So, I received these through the Vine program, and couldnt wait to check them out. We looked at outdoor lounge chairs like these last summer (and the summer before that), but the price was just a little more then we could spend for two lounge chairs. These arrived completely assembled, with one of the back rests separated from the chair. It snapped back into place with a little coaching, and other than that, all was good. These have legs at both ends that just fold down, nothing more, and a back rest that pulls up, and can be locked in several positions. They are constructed from a plastic resin (brown color), and have the look of Ratton, but definitely not the feel. To me, and my wife to a lesser degree, they are hard to lay on. I already ordered two long padded cushions for these, the outdoor kind with strings you can attach them with. Now, I have no idea how much it cost a manufacturer to melt plastic resin, pour it in a mold, cool it, box it up, and ship it out, but at $150 bucks each, $299 for the set, i would think they are making a good profit on these. But, a friend of mine I talked to about the price of these, because they are plastic, said that its not the plastic that costs the manufacturer big bucks, its the mold that has to be made for each product, and more if there are multiple plastic pieces needed to make a completed product (this chair has the main chair part, two different legs, a back rest, and a few assorted small pieces), so I guess this needed several molds custom made to manufacture this chair. So its hard for me to give you an accurate bang for your buck value, as even though I may think that they are really pricey, I could be totally inaccurate in this thinking. I only mention all of this because Im really surprised at this price, they dont include even a basic, solid colored cushion for each chair. But it could be because it cost so much to make these theres no room to include a cushion, youll have to buy your own. At least youll get one youll like! Other than that little piece of manufacturing cost analysis, these should last a lifetime, and totally weather resistant. Ive looked at prices of real Ratton lounge chairs, and ones similar to this look, from retailers most of us know, are about this price, but for one chair, not two. Definitely something to consider if money is no object a quote you never get to quote, like me. I already know that when I put these out this summer, with the nice, really padded cushions I got for these, when we have a cook out with a few friends, these will be the first chairs occupied. And actually, the cushions will cover more of the chair then youll ever see (except to my friend Jake, hell be crawling underneath to see what they are made of, and never has a second thought about making a fool of himself no matter what the circumstances are), and, almost no one will ever care what they are made of, only if they are comfortable or not. With four positions to lock the back rest in place, Im sure theyll be comfortable for everyone. My 3-Star rating for comfort is based on the chair alone, no cushion. 5-Stars for assembly because there is no assembly. And 4-Star for sturdiness because the front legs buckle under if you move the chair, but has not when you are just laying on it. Very nice, needs a cushion if youre old like me, and looking forward to getting some real use out of them this summer, if i can ever come out of the house again, and if my friends can actually come over again. Its become a crazy world outside my front door.
Great chairs! My only complaint is that they seem more brown than charcoal gray. They came already assembled which was a huge plus and we were using them the same day we received them. Looking forward to using them by the pool this summer.
I was pretty excited to get these, as they looked sleek, modern, and comfortable. They are 2 of those things.
They arrive completely assembled, and mine didnt have a scratch (granted, its hard to scratch plastic). All you have to do is fold down the legs and youre ready to rock. This is a far cry from those old-school lounge chairs with the rubber gaskets stretched over an aluminum frame. They are classy looking.
The problem is that they are not very comfortable on the lower back. I would need some kind of lumbar pillow or something to make it work for any length of time. They just looked so much more comfortable in the photos.
This set of 2 chairs were poorly packed for one arrived with the back off and the other had small chunks of the seating material on one side knocked off. Ive been working without success in getting the back of the one chair reattached. It looks like it should be straightforward but since the material these are made from is so stiff, I havent had any luck fitting this back into both of the holes needed to attach to stabilize the back. The chair with the small chunks knocked out does not hurt the function of the chair any and most casual observers wouldnt even notice. These chairs were shipped in a long cardboard box with a couple of white plastic pieces securing them on the inside as well as a couple of extra pieces of cardboard. I think they need more protection than that. The best thing about these chairs is they are heavy and wont blow away or over in the wind. They also look nice. The backs, at least for the one that works, can be adjusted to 4 different angles along with simply be flat for lying on. The one I cant get back in place can be used for lying on. These chairs will be more comfortable with an investment in chair pads and pillows. I placed these chairs to catch the morning sun and be in the shade in the afternoon. Although it hasnt gotten hot here yet, I do find myself wondering how much heat the charcoal gray, which is quite dark, will collect in the sun. My rating is 3 stars. They are good chairs if wind is a concern and these will stay in place. However, the damage done in shipping is a pain. They look good although theyre not particularly comfortable.
I came home to find this massive box next to my porch - tore it apart and lifted the first of the two loungers out of the box. Oh man, they are (for me) heavy! Thats a good thing, actually. So I manhandled both loungers past my porch to the shady side of my home, clicked the head piece up so I can lounge like Im sitting in my recliner with the footrest up. I have a small table between the loungers so I can have iced tea or lemonade, sit in the cool shade and read while my two little dogs wander around the yard. These loungers look like rattan though they are whatever...pvc or whatever sturdy rubber/plastic stuff its made out of so they can stand up to rain, sun, wind, snow, etc. They are storeable if you need to put them away - just fold up the legs and lean them against a wall - they should lie fairly flat. Definitely a great pair of loungers for the yard if you are in need - get these!
This is a review for the Set of 2 Pacific Sun Lounge Outdoor Chaise Pool Chairs with Resin Rattan Look and Adjustable Back, Charcoal Grey.
On the plus side, these lounge chairs are incredibly easy to assemble - there is nothing to attach and no need for any tools. You just unfold the chairs and adjust the head rest to the position you want. Both lounge chairs arrived in good shape.
The chairs feel quite sturdy and are weatherproof. They also look nice; they dont look like plastic but more like wicker.
On the negative side, these lounge chairs are uncomfortable alone but very comfortable with a good cushion.

Great value for how much your paying.
Not Terribly Comfortable

Sturdy Heavy Chairs Once Received, but Fragile During Shipping Apparently

Very Cute
Looks great but not really comfortable
Sturdy - these things can stand up to Texas winds and laugh!
