    TV stand with appeal

Putting it together was bit of a challenge, but the outcome was great. Looked as good as others I had looked at for a lot more.

Works well in my Home Theater, With Some Modifications

I purchased this as the wall in my home theater room I have my TV against has a surface that I can't wall mount to, and I wanted to go to an 85 TV from my 65. With most modern TVs having wide-mounted legs I had to go to a wider stand. My Sony X900F 85 TV barely fits on this stand with millimeters to spare (see photo). It also allowed me to put my center channel speaker (Polk RTI CSIA6) which is 24 wide and 12 deep on a center shelf rather than a separate stand. Pros: Relatively easy to assemble with one person (if strong enough) Wide center shelf allows you to put large center channel surround speakers on one of the shelves Relatively inexpensive for what it is The metal legs raise the stand off the floor so you can reach under it if needed to move cables around. Cons: The stand has a shallow depth, which makes it more tippy front to back, especially with a large TV on it. It's made worse by the legs as the legs aren't all the way to the front of the stand, but 1.5 or so recessed from the front edge. I'd strongly suggest flat panel TV anti-tip straps, especially if you have kids. Due to the shallow depth, for deeper AV components like my Denon AVR-X4400H, there's not enough room for cables out the back. I ended up cutting out a large hole in the back panel to make it fit. Hard to move with weight on it due to the small footprints of the legs making them dig into carpet. I ended up using carpet sliders under each leg so I could move the stand as needed. The cable management holes are tiny and only at the very top of the panel. If you have a lot of wires to run, plan on cutting a bigger or additional holes. The material of the back panels is thin and relatively easy to cut; kind of like a dense cardboard. The back panels are thin and fit loosely in slots cut into the shelf uprights and top/bottom. Even with the plastic clips provided in the box to secure them, the panels would rattle on bass hits. I had to run a bead of caulk around the perimeter of each of the panels so they'd not be able to rattle in the slots. This also had the added benefit of making the stand more rigid. You may also have to pull the shelves out slightly so they don't contact the back panel if you still have rattles. Additional notes for purchasers: Don't forget to install the wood dowels, it makes it easier to install the screws. It comes with a small bottle of wood glue that isn't mentioned in the instructions. This is so you can glue in the wood dowels during installation to make it stronger if you wish. As I mentioned above, if you don't want rattles, run a bead of caulk around the perimeter of the rear panels to secure them better. The doors aren't required, I left them off as I needed to make sure I had enough airflow for AV components. The middle shelf is glass, and considering how wide the shelf is, very thin and flexible. Heavy items in the middle will make it sag in a scary way. If you put a speaker on the middle shelf, make sure it has rubber feet so it doesn't buzz around on the glass. I used a Sound Addicted SMPad 8 wedge shaped foam speaker isolation pad so I could aim the speaker up slightly toward my listening position.

    Good value for money

Easy enough to assemble, sturdy, flawless finish. If you can handle Ikea, you can handle this.

Wobbly stand; setup took 3 hours.

Update Dec. 2019 It less wobbly with weight on/in the thing. Still upset that the scratch on top is very noticeable but its less of an eyesore with our tv on top of it. ———————————- Took about three hours to put together with a bad wrist. The instructions werent the best, but with many years of IKEA constructing these types of things are pretty intuitive for me. Overall it wasnt too difficult to put together by myself, although there were some small parts like the doors was pretty frustrating. The final piece is super wobbly, tried adjusting the legs for ten minutes but still no success. Maybe itll be better with weight on and inside the stand. TBD. It has came with a the top piece damaged with a long scratch mark (see image) - luckily the TV sits right above it so it covers the scratch mark but that's not great.

    Decent for the cost

I like how this piece looks. The color is really nice and the glass shelf is a fun little feature. I wish it had a hole in the glass shelf back piece so I could run cords through, but otherwise, this is a good piece for the cost. I like the style a lot. Not super difficult to put together, but I did end up putting something on backwards and having to redo it once, so be careful of that.

    Makes a statement!

Pay close attention to detail for some of the connections and screws but overall, easy to assemble. Did it by myself and took a little less than 2 hours! Looks great and expensive! Have already had compliments from company thats been over to my place.

    Great furniture piece

I'm only giving this product a 4 because the instructions for building this furniture piece could be a lot better. Overall it was fairly easy to build and looks great in our living room! The storage space is perfect for video games and consoles and it fits our 65 TV perfectly!
