The only thing I desired was to be able to switch left-hand or right-hand stair access. I ended up crafting myself the left-hand access using some handy tools to flip the table around. This bed frame is the best value for the money. I love this so is my kid. One minor problem is that the frame will wobble on carpet floor due to soft surface. No fault of the design or product here. I had to drill extra holes thru the frame on both sides and bolted them directly into the wall studs for absolute hold.
Very wobbly!! Could assemble with one person, but much better with two. Took us about 2.5, maybe 3 hours to assemble. I had to reinforce bed to wall to make it sturdy. I also got pool noodles to make it to where you could actually climb the latter. I made it work, but if you cant reinforce the bed, its not worth the purchase.

I bought this for my daughter who just moved into a pretty small space. She reports that it was easy to put together and decorate.
