It took most of a day but we put it together and my daughter loves it! The bed looks really great and feels sturdy. So far we are happy with this purchase.
This bed is super sturdy and strong. I was able to set it up by myself in about an hour. My son loves it! I dont have anything bad to say about his bed at all. Looks and feels great!
This piece will work if youre not too demanding on the quality. Nothing to compare with which I previously bought but it didnt work for me. The assembly instruction is poor and led me to a few mistakes Id rather avoid. Some of the wood pieces are stitched from smaller parts and have knots. Some pieces are barely painted (you can see a wood texture through the thin layer of paint). Some pieces are made from MDF, not wood. Clearly overpriced for that quality but will work for some time.
I bought two of these for my teenage boys. Both had their dual monitor computers setup with all the accessories headphone holders, desk lamps. The desk is wide and long enough to hold the keyboard and mouse pad with space to have the two monitors. The shelves in the corner were small but enough to hold school supplies, a few binders, books and picture frames. My only suggestion would be to get a lite mattressone of my boys had an older style mattress with wrapped springs/coils and his bed did squeak when he moved in it.
After a few extra trips to Home Depot, it finally came together. Simple and clean. I purchased all new bolts and screws bc the ones they give you are basically garbage.
As a parent/adult, I could not climb up the ladder. It was excruciating on my feet. I even had my husband test it out and try climbing up. Unfortunately, he couldnt as well. The ladder was made of bars with no support. In my opinion, this bed is not made for younger children. Thankfully my child is older and is aware he needs to be careful should he need to go in and out of bed throughout the night.
Note to parents: Top would be hard to clean and change sheets considering the ladder issue. All in all, a solid for older children.
The bed seems sturdy, thicker wood than a lot of furniture Ive ordered online. The desk part came damaged, but has a form online where you enter the style, color, damaged part, when and where purchased, and a photo of the damage. I submitted this and got a confirmation email and then immediately after the desk piece shipped and I got an email notification of that. It was super easy. I think this happens a lot with shipped furniture, especially because all furniture appears to be a combo of wood and mdf these days rather than solid wood. My complaint with the bed is the smell. It has that new furniture VOC odor and though it says within safe formaldehyde limits I still had the idea of chemicals on my kids bed. I miss the days of the da Vinci kalani greendguard crib bed for a couple hundred bucks. Why isnt there a or loft version of that? Though its not greenguard and clearly stinky, its still solid and better than other especially for the price
