This bed is so unstudy there are dents and scratches all over that look like!!they were covered with paint , for $600. This bed should be in amazing shape and not shake what so ever oh and the wood is cheap !!!!
This is a high quality bunk bed at a great product ! price. The instructions were mostly pretty clear but I did end up having to make two alterations/corrections.
My first error was the orientation of the drill hole guides on the headboard which holds the perpendicular support beam for the bed slats. I used a tape measure to transfer the hole locations on the other side.
My second error was the bottom bolt holes that hold the ladder in place ended up being on the opposite side after lifting the bed onto the other by myself. Didnt want to do that again so I simply drilled new holes and countersunk them for the bolts.
My one issue I did encounter, not of my own doing, was with securing the ladder to the top bunk. To do so I had to unscrew the slats that were in the way of the bolt holes, a minor annoyance, but an annoyance none the less.
Lastly I have doubts about the structural strength of the top bunks guardrail attachment located next to the ladder. It has a wiggle to it and although I have told my children not to use it to pull themselves up onto the top bunk but kids will be kids. I will end up securing the rail on the other side for more stability.
In conclusion, this is a really outstanding bunk bed frame with mostly clear instructions that looks fantastic and is very sturdy. I highly recommend this product.
This arrived faster than expected in 4 boxes. I put it together mainly by myself but 2 people would be very helpful, especially when having to lift the twin bed on top. It does have that new painted wood smell, but it wasnt overpowering. It was easy to assemble and took me right around 5 hours. I used an 8 inch mattress on top and bottom, I would say bottom would accommodate a 10 inch mattress just fine. Everything is sturdy, and there were no cracks or boards that were messed up or chipped. I highly recommend this bunk bed, quality and great product ! price.
Wow!! We are SO pleased with this bunkbed setup. My husband and I took our time and did a bed a day.
The workmanship and quality of parts are second to none. nice product !color. Even the bolts are colored. nice product !finished product.
I do believe we will get two thin sheets of plywood though for under our mattresses as they are spring.
Highly recommend and !
The instructions are just a bunch of diagrams with really small details. So hopefully youre a visual person. As for the bed itself, I wish the support slats were a tad sturdier. It felt okay with my weight (140lbs) on the top bunk after assembled, but if pressure is centralized into one area (I.e, child standing or jumping) the pieces of wood bow pretty easily. Going to keep an eye on that. Other than that the bed went together perfectly and it looks amazing. Oh , be careful or youre going to end up with splinters. The wood is pretty rough on some of sections of unfinished wood.
