Update to my earlier review. The second customer service representative who I spoke with gave me the name and contact phone number of the recliner vendor (GDF Studio). The GDF Studio customer service representative was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. After listening to my description of the problem, he determined that the recliner base unit needed to be replaced. I received the replacement base unit by UPS in six days (in Honolulu, Hawaii). The recliner works really well. One comment on the outstanding GDF Studio customer service. After the customer service representative got my email address, he sent me a test email while I was still on the phone call to be sure that our email connection was correct, and to be sure that I had his email address if I had to contact him for any reason.
The recliner worked really well, and fit in our master bedroom. However, after six weeks something went wrong such that the footrest is no longer connected to the seat back, and the seat back cannot be put in the upright position. I spoke with an customer service rep, but she could not help nor direct me to a vendor to try to fix the problem. The customer service rep also advised me that the recliner did not have a warranty.
I have no idea why this has such good reviews. Its not good looking as the material looks like very not modern corduroy. This is not just firm, its hard and I like firm furniture. It also has a huge gap between the back cushion part and the part where you sit. The middle part of it is already sagged in and beyond uncomfortable to sit in the middle, even my dog wont be comfortable in the middle.
Worst part, the cushions sink back at an angle so the part of it that gets sat on will continue to sink unevenly and the front of the cushion not - this creates a terrible posture scenario that will cause back problems (Im a licensed massage therapist and Ive seen this at play a lot).
Now I know I cant trust it just because its ...so unfortunate though. Prime is my go-to
These are awesome chairs! Extremely easy to assemble and they are so nice because they are deep enough but they are comfortable but you can also recline them. Definitely a great buy!
Looks nothing like the photo in the 360 back view. I literally bought it because the back of the chair looked neat and finished off well. So very disappointed. The back is visible at its location in my family room. The front of the chair however, looks like the photo displayed on site.
I got this yesterday and off the bat thought it looked a bit orange-y and kinda fake. It didnt smell like leather. It actually smells quite chemical-ish like a new area rug with rubber backing. lol It didnt feel like leather. It doesnt have that sticky feel real leather does. It actually feels a bit rubbery. I looked at the product tag and no mention of leather in the material, only polyester. I thought maybe that was just referencing the cushions...so I went and scouted the other leather items and...BOOM. The genuine leather items actually say top Grain leather in the material and descriptions. But just to be really sure, I called customer service. They confirmed this is BONDED leather which essentially means faux. Nowhere in the description does it mention the word bonded anywhere that I could see. Its like that word was left on purpose? False advertising. Im not happy after waiting a few weeks for this dang thing! The rep said they will get the description updated right away, and she refunded me and scheduled a return pick up for next week. So the return process was at least easy and quick. But now I am off to plan B and waiting another few weeks for another one.
Lets face it, you are not getting Ethan Allen for this price, but I am very, very happy with this product. Its the smallest recliner I could find and it works very well in my small living room. The green is beautiful. It was very easy to put together, but get a friend if you are not supposed to lift anything heavy. Very tall people will need a pillow to support their heads. Its fine for me (57). The reclining mechanism works well. I usually put a throw down when I lay back to watch a movie, as the study fabric is a little rough my bare arms. But it is exactly the look I wanted.

Hard, slanted cushions with weird gaps in construction

comfortable. wouldnt recommend for heavier weights

Nice chair. Maybe a bit stiff, but should get more comfortable over time. Easy to recline.
