I have been looking for rockers for a while now. I was hesitant to buy online but Im sure glad I did. These are the best quality rockers and they sit great to. I have had wooden rockers in the past, these are 100x better. My husband and I assembled these together, very easy to do. All pros and no cons with this purchase!!
Very nice chair. Very comfortable. I am 5 foot 11in, 220 pounds I fit nicely. Heavy. Sturdy. If my wife wants one I will buy another. Had a small problem with assembly. I had trouble fitting crossmembers into the recessed holes. The problem was solved by using a Phillips head screwdriver to back out a little bit some of the screws in the side pieces. They were over tightened. This caused a shortening of the gap. Definitely would recommend two people to assemble. They provide a tool to screw in the bolts. A few of the bolts took a lot of effort to get in. But assembly was quick and I did it myself.
I searched for these locally for weeks and all the patio stores have them in back order for months. Then I found them here with next day delivery. They arrived on time and I assembled them easily in under an hour. Theyre sturdy and high quality. Highly recommend.
Here is the scoopage. My wife and I bought these for our balcony. We are 46 and 50 years old. Average size people, she 53 140lbs, me, 510 165lbs. The chair is a perfect height for her a little short for me but still comfortable. The lumbar was a little uncomfortable for her but a small pillow will solve that . The rocking motion falls short and this makes for an awkward experience but its a sacrifice we have to make wanting a chair that is not to deep given our space, so this is a plus for us in the long run. The width fits us well but will say anyone who would compare themselves as much bigger then us would find themselves wedging in the chair .
The quality is decent . It says and I have no reason to believe its not. Thick, sturdy, nice grain, heavy etc. the fasteners did not strip when tightening and un/tightening and re/tightening ( more on that later) but are painted white and chipped easily. They are not aluminum or stainless steel so I expect rust issues and this could be problematic if the rust stains run down the nice pure white chair . I am going to paint them immediately sensing the inevitable. (We live on the shore on Long Island sound / salt!) Also the fasteners are the typical round hex head screw you get for furniture you assemble yourself, which seems to be the growing trend and no longer an indication of cheap furniture ( we bought a natural wood king bed that came from the UK , that we assembled and it was over 3k) But the fasteners lay flat on the surface as the Pre/drilled holes are not recessed. If the fasteners where stainless and they took the extra 15 min to drill a larger recessed hole for the fasteners these would be unbelievable quality. So now I have non stainless steel fasteners you can see all down the sides of the chairs and the white paint is already off most of the heads . Looks like crap and makes them look cheap . Hence will paint immediately with rustolium.
Now for the assembly. I consider myself very capable at these tasks and weirdly enjoy doing this type of stuff. Also a major DIY guy. Unable to contain my excitement , I tackled assembly myself at 5:30 am with my first cup of coffee with the hopes of having both chairs fully assembled and waiting for my lovely wife to awake when her lady clock tells her to get up. To their defense, the simple instructions do say recommended for two persons but Im no ordinary person ya know. It took me 45 mins for one . Some of that is because I have an ego and didnt really follow the instructions. BUT I spent 25 min figuring out why the seat would not fit in the cut outs and line up . And this my friends is the tip that makes reading this long review worthwhile. The pre/assembled small slots above the rocker rails where screwed too tight and made the sides just short enough where the seat would not set properly in the cut out grooves. So I had to loosen the Phillips head screws about a 1/8 to 1/4 to allow the seat to fit properly then re/ tighten those as a last step .
Also , pay attention to the size of the cross bars as the long one goes in the front . Also, a cause for a re/do was the back of the chair that have small brad holes and these should face the back but they do not tell you that in the instructions so of course I had them facing out and took it apart to fix.
I had to remove the fasteners about three times before I figured out the issue was with the pre assembled parts and not my doing . So for this reason, I rated assembly as a 3 star .
All said and done, great for the price, especially now that you cant find a piece of furniture anywhere. No idea how has these in stock for that price .
You do get what you pay for as these do not compare pound for pound with the higher quality niche company ones.
So I will update the review after the season and see how these hold up .
Lastly, we ordered two which came on the same day but in two different drops. One box was torn up pretty bad and I had worried the chair was damaged as you could see the white chair parts but luckily not even a scratch.
Great product, solid and comfortable rocker. Im 59 and very ergonomic. Its easy to assemble if pieces are pre/assembled correctly. Knocked down 1 star bc pre/assembled pieces were mismatched; I had to unscrewed and reassemble those pieces. I could see how some could be consfused and give up.
Knew from other reviewers that these were not large rockers but I am still a little disappointed in their size. Assembly was super easy and took maybe 10 minutes so that was a plus. And I am happy that these should last much longer than my wooden ones that fell apart in just a few seasons. But yes, they are small and extremely uncomfortable if you do not have a pillow for back support. Even the arms are lower than expected when sitting and the seat is lacking length so your legs jut out awkwardly. I am far from a tall person at 57 so if I am feeling like a giant and I can only imagine what my husband at 61 is thinking. These rockers are really only good for looks
