Once together, it was just lovely. Im very happy with it.
Im only 5 feet tall and I put this together myself in an afternoon, though Im sure two people would have an easier time of it.
The directions have fantastic illustrations that show every hole of each piece so you can easily tell which way is up.
3/4 of the assembly was quite zen, but towards the end, there were a few parts that were frustrating:
1. The bolts that attach the legs are impossible to screw all the way in without power tools or being The Hulk. I needed a drill and it was still hard as heck.
2. The magnetic pieces for the doors should have come earlier in the instructions. They have you put them in after youve put the top on, which makes it nearly impossible to get access to the top screw.
3. Once the bulk of the piece is together all the pre/drilling disappears! The doors need 14 screws each and not a one is pre/drilled. Just a tiny score to show you where the screw goes. Yet youre not supposed to use a power drill? Ha!
4. The wood glue was questionable. I dont think it did a darn thing but make the dowel insertion a little more tedious.
That said, this weighs a lot, looks and feels real sturdy once its together, and is just a gorgeous piece in the living room. The fireplace element is so cozy and warm, or you can just enjoy the fire without turning on the heat. My cat is fascinated.
Each shelf holds 2 layers of 30 DVDs, so you could potentially fit 240 DVDs in the cabinets if thats all you used them for. I used one shelf for electronics and the rest for DVDs, so 180 for me.
If you have the patience to put this together, and you have a drill (along with the common sense not to go too far with it and strip the pieces), and you like the way it looks, Id say get it. It looks just as good in person as in the pictures.
I want to start by saying overall the product went together perfect, directions were very easy to follow and the overall piece is sturdy.
However, at the last step of attaching the doors the screw heads SNAPPED off. My husband snapped the first two, I thought he was just being too rough so I told him I would do it, and two more SNAPPED. They head just simply twisted off of the body of the screw so easily. I was using as littler force as I could and was trying to be very gentle because I didnt want anymore to break. I have two screws that I didnt even put in all of the way because I was scared they were about to break off too.
This wouldnt be a issue if these werent the screws literally holding the doors on. Im not entirely sure what to do about it since the screw body is stuck in the hole and screws from the hardware store will look different but Im pretty disappointed. For the overall price of the piece and how great quality every other aspect of this piece had, Im disappointed that the finish screws on the front failed.
Im not going to take it apart and send it back since I used wood glue (per instructions) and it would be difficult and time consuming, but Im disappointed this happened.
Saw lots of great reviews on this so I decided to give it a try. For the most part it was easy to assemble. The instructions arent super clear so you have to do some on your own. Trying to put the doors on was an absolute mess. The holes they originally had drilled didnt line up, so the doors werent even or didnt close right, so I gave up on putting doors on. Took me 3.5/4 hours to get what I did done, and that was all by myself. Its a really pretty piece, but it was kind of hard to do by myself.
Not only were the instructions very hard to follow, but once it was put together it was not stable. Its cute for the price. Ordered 2 end tables and coffee table and hope assembly is easier and products are sturdy. Otherwise, they will be returned.
Nice tv stand happy with the description and overall quality. Bummed bc while setting it up when I got to the top o found a crack in the laminate front. I was far to invested at that point to care to return. Just check all pieces before assembly invade its damaged.

Bad quality.
Cheap, hard pressed wood looks good but is a crappy quality.
Beautiful, heavy, great illustrations

One downside/ disappointment

Confusing instructions
I do like it seems sturdy but the assembly was confusing instructions , frustrating
Pretty, but dont try to put this together by yourself

It was very easy to assemble. The price wasnt bad either
I love the piece. I cant stop staring at it. It looks great in my living room
User friendly
Sturdy and easy to assemble.
Instructions were horrible
Not only were the instructions very hard to follow, but once it was put together it was not stable. Its cute for the price. Ordered 2 end tables and coffee table and hope assembly is easier and products are sturdy. Otherwise, they will be returned.
Good for the price
The doors are not sturdy enough
