I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this bed knowing I would likely have to set it up myself ... admittedly I was scared. But i did it! I put this thing together by myself. Im not saying it was a piece of cake but honestly I think if I had help, it would have been worse. It took me two hours, but I was also watching tv. I did get tripped up three times. When I did the first side, I figured out pretty quickly I had a piece upside down. Once fixed, no issues until the last two steps. When attached the top piece 2 of the holes had some debris in them so I did have to clean out some leftover wood pieces. And then the very last step .. attach the legs first!! It definitely helps in knowing which way the slats go. It feels extremely sturdy and a single mattress fits perfectly under it. I do still need to get a trundle but wanted to see the frame done first. So all said.. its not that bad!! Use the enclosed direction pictures. Have a beer by your side. And just do it. This room definitely needed something like this, as I didnt want to give up the double guest bed I already had.
Very happy with this because it is made from wood. Not particle board nor MDF. Nothing is worse than those two materials .... flat out junk! The slats are made from cabinet grade plywood. Assembly is pretty straight fwd and was easy to do. I would suggest using, if you have one, an Allen wrench with a longer handle or as I did, I used an Allen socket wrench. The lag screws supplied to assemble the side rails are pretty long and beefy. The supplied wrench will take you forever and will put some strain on your hands. I only gave it 4 stars because there were some minor flaws with the finish but it wont be noticeable because of the mattress. One spot had a run in the paint and another where the finish was bit thinner than the rest. Overall ...nice bed. My daughter enjoys it and looks nice.
I purchased this bed simply to update the current one I was using. I love daybeds, and wanted something made of wood, white, and twin size. Not to mention affordable. This bed was perfect for my needs. It’s very sturdy. Wood is heavy. White is a true white. Not an off white. It’s true to twin size and fit my twin size comforter to a T. It’s a little higher than I thought it would be. Not an issue. There is a big yellow warning sticker that comes on the one side panel that I will have to find a way to remove.
As far as assembly, I personally needed an extra hand when it came to the panels needed to connect the sides. To be able to put the screws in evenly, I needed someone to hold the other side at the same height I was at on the other side. The Allen wrench is too small. It works, but constantly fell out of my hands. The instructions are poor, but not so much so you can’t figure them out.
Overall, I would recommend this bed to anyone of any age. I would also recommend patience when putting it together as it was frustration at times. It’s a beautiful, affordable piece of furniture. The picture is true to product.
My teenager wanted something like a futon but more sturdy. I bought this to see how it would be, since during the day we can decorate it with pillows and it would look nice and it was more than what I expected. Its sturdy and comfortable.
My daughter is having a baby and we had to downsize her room. We thought a daybed would be best to have more room for the babys things. The bed was easy to put together and is very spacious.
