I bought this umbrella for shade but it said fade resistant. It has been outside for 6 weeks and in the down position. Had a 4th of July BBQ for friends so when I raised it on the 3rd this is what I found. I was embarrassed to even have this for everyone to see. Contacted the company and I asked for a new cover not a new umbrel they followed up with a new cover in tan that I requested. They made it right.
You will definitely need weight at the base. The only thing I dont like is that the material is always touching the pole when you open it up. Its like a piece of the material is stuck but it isnt. Look at the photo closely before you purchase.
This is a large umbrella. It is best set up in an open area. You will need to secure the base to the floor with deck screws or weights. I purchased the weights you fill with water or sand. The umbrella is relatively easy to set up, but it is a bit heavy and opened up is a bit top heavy; have your base locked down prior to opening it up.
The umbrella is easy to raise and lower, and provides good shade. We ordered green, and got beige, but thats fine. Only word of warning / I live in Florida, so I will need to craft a cover for the crank that raises the umbrella. The sun absolutely killed the plastic casing on our last umbrella and it broke, making the umbrella useless.
We have owned this umbrella for just under 2 years and it has served us well. I would say its on par or sturdier than any other patio umbrella Ive seen. Theres a lot of freedom in the movement, so you can adjust for where the sun is. We did end up buying the base for it as well which also works well, though it is large. I guess it has to be to stop this mammoth umbrella from taking off.
Also, I did have to contact customer service for a small issue. Im happy to report they not only took care of the issue, but far exceeded my expectations for a timely response and resolution.

Fades in a Month dont buy Blue

Great value very easy to assemble not sure about the plastic lock/in the one part but so far looks like it will hold up
Great umbrella for the price!
This umbrella came as advertised and was a fraction of the cost of a similar one at big retail stores.
Only used 1 summer season and now handle has come off and the canopy wont lower.
Obviously want it to work properly, but handle comes apart when trying to retract canopy.
