I will start by saying I love the design of this bed. I searched for months and this was the only on I could find with the features I wanted within my price range. The final product is very nice, my 4 year old loves it. That being said, this was the most infuriating piece of furniture I have ever put together. The are no instructions, just pictures. It doesnt tell you at the beginning that the first few steps for for a right sided set up. Fortunately, my husband figured it out before we got too far ahead. Now, I like to think my husband and I are fairly intelligent individuals, and have put together our fair share of furniture, but we had to redo every step at least once. I looked ahead and I organized everything before we began. Between the lack of instructions, some pieces being mislabeled, or not labeled at all, and the pictures on the directions changing from one photo to the next this process what very challenging. It ended up taking us all day, 11:30am to 10:30 pm (with a couple of meals breaks in there). I will say that having a third person would have been helpful to hold ends together while another person screws everything in. We did end up with a backward footboard since there were no indicator holes and my husband had to use some of his tools to attach the bottom of the stairs to the bed post. It just didnt seem secure enough to us. The itself is very soft and dents/cracks very easily. One dowel hole came completely smashed and a corner of the top board of the stairway is cracked off, as well as multiple small cracks and dents. When purchased I was hoping this would last my daughter into her teens but I dont see that happening. So, in the end it seems to be fairly sturdy and looks nice but is definitely not the quality I was hoping for.
Super sturdy and great quality. It does take a long time to build and the directions arent the best for old eyes. It makes up for that with the build quality and my daughter loves it!
While the build of the product is strong and sturdy, the assembly has been an absolute nightmare. The hardware wasnt labled and we used the wrong pieces only to find out way too late in the game. We had to back track and disassemble several different times because the instructions were not clear on which direction pieces needed to go. The hossle of everything also meant that the damaged pieces we had were not worth the effort of taking apart yet again only to have to reassemble again.
Product arrived with some cosmetic damages, assuming it was done during transport. Product should have been better packaged to withstand the transport. Railing system to the stairs was constructed to go on the left of bed, but do to space constrictions, it has to be changed to the right. Substantial sturdiness was lost in doing this as the screws go directly into a soft instead of metal screw inserts, and now the screws cannot be tightened to strength. So, beware, you will need to be certain which side you want the stairs on before assembly. This may also create an issue if you need to disassemble the whole bed and reassemble into a new area, I would question the overall strength of bed. The price paid should accommodate having to disassemble and reassemble, without losing integrity.
First things first, this bed is beautiful and it was easy to assemble, although the hex screws that came with it and leave a lot to be desired since they get stripped after only about 3 slips.
The bed is sturdy, in that it doesnt shake, but I have my misgivings about is ability to support me. I weigh about 135lbs and my mattress is one of those thin tri/folds and weighs barely 20lbs, if so much. After just a few uses I climbed the stairs and plopped myself down on the bed and heard a loud cracking noise. When I climbed back down to survey the damage I saw that the middle support beam had a huge split in it. Now I have to go find some other support solution before this bed drops me in my sleep.
Id recommend this bed for little kids, if youre an adult looking to use this as a space hack for a tiny apartment, just keep looking.
I was looking for a way to create space in my tiny bedroom and wound up looking into beds. This ended up being the only one I could find with the dimensions and features I was looking for., And the only not cheesy looking one co sidering Im an adult. There were no reviews so I took a chance and rolled the dice.
I had a master handyman build it and it took him a good 10 hours. , Definitely not Ikea junk! The is of high quality and very beautiful.
The bed is super sturdy even with me, my girlfriend, and our two cats sharing it every night. Hard to find good beds that can work in an adult space.
I got this primarily because of the stairs. I LOVE the storage drawers and all the open shelves on the side.
Regarding the clearance space underneathI have my mini office setup and just barely cleared it when sitting. Im 54 and was able to make it work. Literally any taller than that and youre out of luck. Theres 52 inches from the floor to the middle support slab so measure accordingly if youre using it like I do!
My 7 year old adores this bed, it is made sturdy and beautiful.
I gave 4 stars only because there was a bit of damage and only noticed once it was built there was no way i was taking that down to return it.
You need two people to build it, and takes about 4/5 hours going slowly to make sure its done properly
This bed was purchased for my daughter. The bed itself is a great product and quite sturdy. The delivery, packaging, and individual pieces or hardware are all great. It is made with a soft pine that is both light but sturdy and the design, along with the hardware, is nice and snug and sturdy.
I have put a lot of furniture together in my life so I knew this was a two/person job and it is. Even then, its a mission. The process would not be so hard if the instructions were better. Not looking for photo quality instructions but they need to at least match the product. In three separate occasions the instructions did not match the parts in out hands. The first most obvious mistake is the support slats. In the picture it instructs you to put two en pegs and then a screw. Well there are only two holes so good luck with that!
Also, make sure you read the instructions FULLY before you build. The left vs right sidedness of the bed for the staircase matters almost immediately and if you only to step/by/step youll be building it for the stairs to be on the right. Its not until much later that it mentions options and this is after putting on the proper slats for the railings. So read ahead.
If it werent for the incorrect instructions (which is different than my read ahead suggestion) I would give this product full stars. To me it looks like the product was updated to reduce material cost but the instructions were not updated. Theres also a part number typo where it tells you to use pieces youd already used. Luckily the pieces are very different shapes and its simple enough to figure out.
Anyway, the product is strong and my daughter loves it. The slats for the mattress are sturdy and everything lined/up nicely.
One last point / the mattress height. Be very aware of the limitation for the height of the mattress. Right now my daughters pillow tends to fall off the back because she has a tall mattress and sleeps on two pillows.

nice looking bed but not the best quality and infuriating to assemble.

Nice bed
My daughter loves it. I feel like the is a little cheap. Easily dented but all in all Im happy with the purchase.
Great quality and sturdy bed

Great quality, poor instructions for assembly

Nice looking, but question the sturdiness of the railing system.

Time
Great bed. Well built and sturdy. All the parts were there and the directions were not bad. Took me around 4/6 hours to assemble by myself.
Very good purchase
