I was pleased to see the straps in the bottom are actually bars. My grandson was delighted with his bed with a roof.

All day to assemble the wrong poles as the counter sink wasnt correct. You had to reverse it. This took us over 5 hours as didnt line up. But love bed and both kids tend to sleep on top together with no issues. Kids 9 and 11 Fantastic Size.
The bottom is sturdy with a box spring + mattress. We actually managed to fit a full size mattress at the bottom and its used by adults. Now, the top is wiggly and the rail to keep children from falling is not tall enough. We lined up the edges with giant stuffed animals. With just the twin mattress, theres only about an inch of rail left. All parts were accounted for. My mom loves it.
Overall once it was put together its a nice bed. But the manufacture threw me for a loop putting it together. One of the main corner polls had bolt indention on the wrong side. Just check the top rails make sure they line up with all the bolt holes before putting all the slats in. Basically had to build it once tear it completely down then rebuild it again. It was close to hit the dumpster several times during this process.
My kids room is pretty junky lol bht I wanted to show the photo. They are cleaning NOW and honestly it took maybe 30 mins to assemble I am so blessed and thankful. Thank you ! Easy to set up.
