    Engineer's perspective

I thought I read on here that this took a long time to put together. I think for me it was about an hour. The parts on the sides that are ladders all have to be assembled individually, as do the cross beams, but the top part where the rails are all comes as a panel. 2 hours tops. I did have to pay attention to the pictures in the manual pretty closely as there are directions to these pieces, but overall it is like any other modular, overseas manufactured furniture. All the spot welds on the rails seemed good, with probably a lincoln-head-on-a-penny amount of weld affixed, so go ahead and crank it down tight. Powder coat was thick throughout and lightly hitting on assembling it wasn't enough to gouge it and show bare . Assembled it seems stable enough to hold a coupla decent sized 10 year old boy's playing around on top without swaying too much. Overall good buy for the prices. Wife didn't like the ladder tops being closed and thought the boy (5) wouldn't be able to get up there or out by himself. I thought different. Turns out I was right;. Go figure... I was a boy once.. I don't write reviews on normal stuff but on this thought I would help out parents so, yeah. Take it from an engineer that this is a good deal for a kids bed.

I waited a long time to write the review to make sure it didn't fall apart because it was so inexpensive. It is such a cool bed and the color is amazing- exactly like the picture. My 13 yr old daughter keeps her bookshelf and computer desk under it. We had it in our rental for 8 months, then had to disassemble and move to a new home we bought. It has held up great and we absolutely love it.

    Attractive, functional bed.

I wanted my daughter to have a maximum amount of floor space in her bedroom and a sizeable desk for her to complete schoolwork and art. This desk fit the bill. It arrived with one of the long posts very damaged. My husband has woodworking skills and was able to repair and paint. This was a must because it would have been impossible to repackage for a return. The seller did reimburse a modest amount for this inconvenience. It took some time to put the bed together and you will need more than one adult to accomplish this task. Once together the bed is lovely and functional. My daughter is very pleased with it and so am I.

Sturdy if you stay within the weight limit!

I wanted to maximize the space in my room, and boy am I happy with this purchase in regard to that! To make it safer, I recommend buying pool noodles and covering those harsh edges because I guarantee you will bump your head into it at some point. They can also be useful for the ladder, since nobody climbs this with shoes. I am a little over the weight limit (not by too much!) so it is a bit shaky when climbing up, but nothing worrisome. Otherwise, its very sturdy and exactly what I needed.

Easy to Build - Excellent Bunk Bed!

I was a bit worried when I opened the box and found the parts and hardware inside. However, using the enclosed instructions, putting this bunk bed together was a breeze. Keep in mind, it will take you a few hours, but you won't run into any roadblocks. The finished product is excellent! It's light-weight, so easy to move, and very sturdy. The kids love it!

Love but little hard to put together.

I was a little hard being a single mom but I got it done. Please stop putting the screws where we can’t reach them.

    Happy It worked

I was a little scared getting this bed. It's designed for children but I'm an adult and on the heavy side (215lbs). I really needed the space and the place I chose wouldn't accommodate a full loft bed so I took a chance. I was very surprised. I assembled the bed myself in a few hours. There were a few mistakes because I wasn't paying attention. Lay out the parts and hardware of each section before you put it together and it will save a lot of time and grief. The bed is very sturdy even though it does wobble a bit. But I grew up on bunk beds. Unless they were made of thick wood or steel, they all wobled. If it's worrisome it does have a bracket to secure it to the wall. You'll have to provide the rest of the hardware to do that. Making the bed does take some ingenuity so I suggest keeping it simple. Rolling blankets and decorative pillows go a long way. The only thing I work with is the sheets and the bed spread. The closer they fit the mattress the better. I almost forgot about the ladder. If you're over 3ft tall it might be a bit much. The spacing is a bit small and bars can cause discomfort for those on the heavier end of the scale, but it is definitely doable. A few tweaks and there's no issue at all. But I'm lazy and decided to go the step ladder route. It makes it easier to make the bed and I can place the ladder anywhere I need it. I have ladder where the highest step measures three feet. It's ok for me at 5'8". It still takes a little acrobatics to get over the top railing so I'm going to find a ladder where the top step is four feet.

Pieces to the bed are only d.

I was expecting the bed to be white as advertised. The parts to the bed are only d. You can see the bare wood through the thin coat of paint.

This Bed is Amazing! Kids-Young Adults

I was skeptical due to the weight limit being 400 when most beds have half that. The bed is perfect and really gives plenty of storage. It’s best near the wall or with stablizers installed to keep the bed from rocking too much. The extra storage shelves are great for holding anything you can think of.

    Sturdy

I was surprised with how big and sturdy this frame is. It takes a while to set up but the instructions are easy to follow. It's also really tall and it leaves plenty of space below.
