I had the same couch for 19 years, so this was a big deal. I read reviews for a year before deciding on this couch. I with that I had understood the leather better. you do have to be careful about spilling, oil and such, and with three teenagers it can be nerve racking. Aniline leather is soft, and develops over time with wear, but it also soaks up anything that comes in contact with it. I rubbed something on it for this type of leather, but you have to keep doing it. Also, kept updating the tracking on the day of delivery with the wrong information. First they said the delivery company tried to call and i didnt answer so they would try again the next business day. then they updated a couple of hours later saying they had come to my house and I was there so they would try again another day. I knew nobody had called or come by so I was pissed. I called the delivery company both times and they said they didnt have anything in their system about either. They showed up that day. I tipped the guys each $20 because it was super heavy and they actually carried it up my stairs.
I love this sofa!! I bought the madagascar color, apartment size, its real leather and really comfortable. Delivery set up a breeze with texts, they delivered into my front entrance, extremely polite. Im 60 and was able to slide box, remove packaging, outer box minor crack but its packed really well, no scrapes or scratches, was perfect. Legs are bubble wrapped and in pouch on bottom of sofa, pouch zips open. I can stretch out im 56 i was hesitant with some reviews and online buying but would do all over again. It really looks high end!! Best purchase!!
Its soft and buttery and easy to sit in (though at 56 my feet hang off). Its the color in the pictures and really easy to put together. However. The arms are slanted. They are higher in the back than in the front, so it looks like its leaning forward. Im keeping it because returning it would be miserable and overall its wonderful. If it werent in an upstairs hallway I likely wouldnt notice it much. The company said they will have straight arms in June
I just got this couch delivered yesterday. The box was very large and couldnt fit in the doorway. The pieces themselves werent too heavy to carry in. Fairly easy to put together (for reference Im a 28 year old female and wouldnt consider myself to be handy). I absolutely love the look of this couch. However, there is a small tear on the right hand side.
I purchased the Napa Sofa from and Bark directly in July of 2020. Now almost 2 years later, the leather is just as supple and the pice is just as gorgeous as the day I purchased. It has held its own against 2 rambunctious boys, a 100 pound Doberman and floor to ceiling panoramic windows with constant direct sunlight. I love this sofa and the company.
It looks great but does mark up very easy and fast. I use it for staging so very little wear and tear but cant imagine normal use. It would not last in my opinion.
