1. The pictures of the product shown on the listing are accurate, but the written description is not. The chair does not have a shell back; instead, it has the upholstered wrap back, which is a slightly more expensive option. It does not have a polished aluminum base; instead, it has a painted metallic base, which is substantially less expensive. Therefore, the version of the chair delivered to me ordinarily sells for a retail price less than the cost of the model described in the listing.
2. As the photograph shows, there are dents/defects in both arm cushions (arm caps). The left cushion actually has two such dents. It does not appear to be related to how it was packaged for shipping, and they have not lessened after the 2+ weeks I have owned it. Other reviews have reported similar problems.
3. Per the sticker on the bottom of the chair (which was placed upside down, by the way), my chair was manufactured in Mexico nearly two years ago. No tags were attached to the chair, nor was there any paperwork such as instructions or warranty information included in the box. Except for the noted issues, it does appear to be new, and not used or reconditioned, however.
I contacted the manufacturer, . Fortunately, they indicated that they will honor the warranty and will ship two replacement arm caps, which Ive not yet received. Each arm cap is held in place with four T-10 Torx screws, and it will be my responsibility for performing the repair.
Despite my disappointment related to the noted issues, I am enjoying the chair. It is generally nice-looking and comfortable.
This is a great office chair for those of us who spend our days at computer tasks — very adjustable, very comfortable, very cool looking. But whatever you do, dont opt for the $50 assembly package. Why, you ask? Because the chair arrives fully assembled. All you need to do is take it out of the box and you are good to go. Why the seller is permitted to market this assembly service is completely beyond me. The chair requires ZERO assembly. The guy who came to assemble it was here for approximately three minutes, the time it took him to take it out of the box. So even though I love the chair, I feel like I got scammed into paying $50 extra for absolutely nothing. Buyer beware.
I bought this seat soon after lockdown and I am continuing to work virtually which means I am sitting 10 hours a day. Its solid and big and bulky but its because it needs to be. I love the lumbar support but probably did my need the headrest. The chair I was using before gave me so much back pain but since the Gesture none whatsoever.
Anyone who is sitting for extended amount of time this is for you.
Its not cheap ... but after roughly a year with it I like it more every day. Comfortable, infinitely adjustable and built like my S500 Mercedes. It weighs in at a claimed 78 pounds and you will be hard pressed to damage it .. other than the armrests which somehow got trapped under my desktop and ended up with permanent indentions ... I could probably get a replacement set but its cosmetic more so than functional so Its on my back burner of things to do.
If you are a heavyweight this chair deserves your consideration. I was 270 lbs when I bought it and it never complained or noticeably flexed. Highly recommend!
I received my chair but there was a 50lb metal object inside the box with it. This metal object had its own tracking information and was not supposed to come to me. It looks as though the object may have also damaged my chair. I love the chair but Im disappointed in the handling of the shipment. When I contacted about it they told me to through away the object and offered me a $30 credit for damagesdoesnt seem like good customer support to me.
The Gesture office chair hits all the marks. It provides support where it is needed, is comfy, and unlike most office chairs is sleek looking. A winner!
I was glad to see the chair comes fully assembled, and the delivery person was willing to bring it up to my 2nd floor office. This is a considerable investment but I am thrilled to find a chair for my desk that is so comfortable. The style is not too office-like — it looks nice and modern in my home. Thanks to the other reviewers I chose this chair.
Watched allot of reviews on this chair as well as others. Owned a Herman Miller Aaron chair at my previous job. Now retired and decided to treat myself to a new office chair. This chair is fantastic! Fits and is much more comfortable than my previous chair. The adjustment options such as the seat and arms are fantastic. I would highly recommend this chair.
