My work from home chair died on me after 20 years. Im a big guy and Ive gotta say that this is a very solid chair. A bit creaky, but Not enough to be a concern. I dont really care for the branding embroidery on the back.
VERY comfortable with wide seat, tall back, and sturdy build. Only thing I would improve on is the arm adjustments are very lose on the forward/backward adjustment. They move if you just bump them slightly.
Overall, this is a pretty solid/built chair. Almost comparable to my DXRacer. It is a lot more comfortable than my DXRacer as well. DXRacer was my first racer style chair and overall left a bad impression on me in terms of these types of chairs. Went back to a normal chair till that one broke and decided to try my luck with this chair. Its so far changed my opinion on racer chairs. Its comfortable, supports me well and the cushioning is nice.
My only complaint so far with this chair is the star base that the caster wheels attach to. The metal on it doesnt curve down far enough so if you move your foot back too fast, you can hurt the back of your heel or even slice it open on the metal. It would be nice if this base was updated to be a bit safer in that regard.
Im 510 and about 220lbs for reference. The chair is comfortable, ergonomic and wide. Most other gamer chairs are about double the price but its the same pleather material and roughly the same dimensions as the competition. The only major issues Ive noticed is that the arm rest does not have visions and the backrest does not align with the base and there is no way to fix it since everything is pre screwed and has to follow the holes. But that does not affect my comfort, it is just uneven when you look at it closely.
At time of review, Ive used the Fantasy Lab Big Tall 400lb Massage Memory Foam Gaming Chair for 1 week and 2 days; Ill update this review over time, if needed. I was very surprised how comfortable and well made this chair is. Only time will tell if it lasts, but it feels and appears to be good quality for the money.
Assembly / easy, especially if youve built furniture before. If you have zero experience, follow the instructions; theyre written drawn decently. Should take 20/30 minutes for the handyman among us; 45 minutes to 1 hour for the less experienced.
Parts / large bolts and thick metal (steel) throughout the chair. It should last. The hydraulic seems easy enough to replace when it goes out, as they ALL go out with time / use vice grips / channel locks to pull the hydraulic from the base of chair and stand; dont go cry squeezing on the hydraulic tube as its pressurized! Measure the hydraulic at a few points and order a new replacement (class 4 hydraulic); no need to buy a brand new chair! Watch some YouTube videos on office chair hydraulic replacement.
Comfort / was really surprised how comfortable this is! Ive used cheap(er) office chairs for years, but they would break after 2/4 years of use (all plastic frames/bases) and were not as comfortable as the Fantasy Lab chair. The foam is very firm, which I like for better support, and they tend to last much longer than soft(er) foam. Very happy!
For comparison: Im 63 and 220 lbs with broad shoulders and average build. It fits me well. I was worried about the racing seat style as many chairs are very narrow and tight fitting around the shoulders. This chair is more broad, open and the angular sides arent restrictive as others / that matters to larger / broader shouldered people!
Why gaming chairs need to be racing chairs makes no sense, as Ive sat behind the wheel of real race cars / racing seats are designed to LIMIT your movement with your hands/arms elevated towards a steering wheel; they are not very comfortable for long periods! Why would you want that as a gaming or office chair. Dont follow trends; most trends are dumb. This chair has the look of a cool racing style chair without the uncomfortable design.
Armrests / the 3 directions are very useful. The padding is very firm, but does give a little (cushion); I prefer that over soft armrests, but after market pads can always be added if needed. Has a slick, rubbery/plastic feel.
Tilt / Rock / fully adjustable and seems very solid. Has a bit of a side/to/side wobble that I didnt notice until the 4th or 5th day, but isnt bothersome, and likely related to the rocking function (adjustable as well).
Aesthetics / The black with red stitching and gold/bronze stitched lettering looks fantastic. Some may not like the stitching of the guns and knife, but I do! The only thing I didnt like was Slayer stitched on the back, but others might. Could that be customized? I didnt see that as an option but may have missed it. Regardless, its an impressive chair!
Final thoughts / most Chinese/made chairs are made from the same handful of companies with the same general design, yet, prices vary from 120 up to 600 with few meaningful differences. There arent many big and tall chairs, regardless of manufacturer origin, and this seems to be the better option for the money. I would have preferred a US made (or Canada made) chair, but they are very expensive (500 / 1200), however, the quality and warranty is much better. Sadly, those prices are too rich for my blood.
This is a good alternative for those on a budget and in need of a heftier/roomier chair.
Ill revise my review based on the response from the seller. Ive had the chair for 1 month now. One of the wheels kept getting stuck making it difficult to move from the beginning. Today that same wheel broke off. The metal pin is fine but the actual wheel cracked. I hope I can get a replacement wheel because the chair is very comfortable otherwise.
5/16/21 update: Seller was prompt to respond and sending a replacement wheel. Will update my review further once it arrives.
5/20/21 update: seller sent me plenty of replacement wheels fairly quickly and Im happily able to use it again!
we are larger and bought this because its the closest to our weight. It fits perfect and i highly recommend it. Its pretty easy to put together but does require two people.
This is my first chair that I have ordered for my room and its definitely looks cool. It was easy to assemble but a few of the screws in the chair were really rusty. The seat itself is fine but it has little holes along the front where your legs are. The neck/head pillow is uncomfortable after a while. The middle of my shoulders start hurting after a while of sitting in the chair. I just have to put a pillow on the back and the pain goes away. Other than that, the chair works just fine. Im 310 lbs and this chair is holding up pretty good so far.
