This low loft bed is in a small basement bedroom with a low ceiling. I was worried because even though it gets high star reviews overall, some of the critical reviews worried me. Im pleased to say that it came in perfect condition with all pieces, no cracks or splinters or broken knots. Finish was perfect condition also, and assembly was 2.5 hours from the time the box was delivered until we had it fully set up to go, with 2 adults and a screwdriver drill attachment. It is very sturdy!
Its true that holes arent drilled for many of the screws. The headboard and footboard have small punch marks to indicate where to put the brackets. I was nervous for splitting the wood in that area, so i drilled very small pilot holes and it turned out fine. The other holes that are not drilled out where the slats connect to the bed rails. I also drilled out pilot holes for the support beams. The slats have holes though so I just screwed them through directly with no pilot holes and it turned out fine with no splitting.
Pay attention to the pieces which are numbered on the edges, and some also have direction arrows. Some identical looking pieces arent quite!
Some reviewers said the support beams were sharp underneath. Ours had 2 sharp corners and 2 rounded-off corners so be sure to put the rounded ones down before screwing them in.
As a final note, this can accommodate a massive amount of under-bed storage!! Ours is for a teen so underneath we have a dresser ( NORDLI), clothes hamper, file cabinet-turned-bedside table and cube storage unit ( EKET—which fits perfectly under the footboard and the light gray is almost an exact color match). Then there is still a ton of space behind it for other storage or making a little hidey hole for sprawling out, though at this age my teen cant fully sit up haha.
Just moved into a new house with smaller rooms, this bed is PERFECT for my 4 7 year olds. They love hanging out under the bed reading their books! The bed is super sturdy, Im heavier set I can still lay on the bed with my girls to watch movies. Highly recommend :)

Definitely would help to have a second person available when attaching the end pieces to the side rails. A big tip would be to use power tools to save some time. The slats for the mattress did not fit right and it was difficult to screw them into the wood. I missed a couple times and even got to close to the edge breaking a small chunk of wood off. I thought it was going to be a little taller from the floor to the bottom of the bed and I wasnt able to put my 13 year old sons low profile futon underneath as I had intended to do for a place to sit and play video games with friends. Overall I like it!!!
Great product by all standards Great for my 3yo. She learnt to climb up and down in an hour. Hoping the higher perch will discourage her from running out of bed 20 times a night, plus Im hopeful to use the underbed space as a little clubhouse. My daughter has bumped her head a couple of times coming out from the under bed space. As for the ladder, Ive seen some reviews from adults using this bed and that surprises me as the ladder is narrow and really designed for little bodies. The assembly was 2 hours with two people including unboxing for us. Theres a lot of screws as each bed slat needs to be screwed into the frame. On the last slat when we tried screwing it down the frame wood cracked off, thats my only real negative.
I did feel when I was searching that this bed advertised a higher weight capacity and underbed height than most similar beds, that being said it was a little more expensive than similar beds too.
Perfect for my needs This was the perfect height for my child. Was able to put book shelves below amd create a reading nook/ lounge area underneath. I like how sturdy it is when put together. Would recommend.

It does initially appear to be a large task when you lay all the parts out, but it goes together relatively easily, ensuring the four corner posts are oriented properly is about the most difficult part. I was able to assemble this by myself but it was a but difficult to get the side rails on without help, two people for that part will be necessary for the average person. I bought this for a child but tested it first, I weigh 240 pounds and felt comfortable and didnt have any concerns when I laid on it to test the sturdiness.
