Pleasantly surprised, I really like this bed

I am writing about the 14 Wood platform bed with a 10 Puffy mattress, it is at a great height for me. I rarely write reviews but I was pleasantly surprised with this bed. It is what it is a VERY simple bed with no head board BUT for what it is I was pretty well satisfied with the product. The wood is highly finished/polished in natural toned ( it looks like Scandinavian Birch, very simple and pleasing) , excellent job on what appears to be a hard polyurethane finish. It is machined micro finger joints with random length shorter boards for the edge boards and the middle support piece. with out close scrutiny the boards look like one piece of wood. The legs are also laminated but done so that they appear to be one solid piece. The legs are obviously digitally machined and done so very nicely. Assembly was very simple, although easy enough for me alone, some may want a helper to mount the end boards to the side ones, but two really are not needed. I am a wood worker and handy with tools and it took me about 20 minutes (while watching TV) to leisurely put it together. The directions are simple pictures and numbers. I bet a smart 10 year old would have no problem assembling. There are the four corner posts, with a third support on the long side rails, three posts on the center support for a total of 9 support pieces. There is a center board (with three support posts as described) where the cross pieces of plywood rest and support the mattress in the center. The cross support boards (that support the mattress) are two groups of about eight 1/2 inch x 3 plywood (nice tight multi layered ply) tacked to velcro strips on either end and unfold like a rope latter so not only are they evenly spaced they are laid out on the rails (well screwed to the side frame) and attach to a long velcro on the rails and thus will not slip. Very simple, well thought out bed. I paid 170 with free shipping and it was well worth it. I have a Puffy mattress and am 510 and weigh in now about 210. It easily handles my weight. I would suspect the bed could handle 2 200 pound people with relative ease with a good mattress. The bed does really appear just like the add. Again for what it is, a very simple bed, it is well designed, engineered and constructed with good solid components. If you like what you see in the picture you should really like this bed.

    Love it!

This bed impressed me, most of my friends love , me not so much. I am so happy with my decision to get this bed. The product was packaged perfectly, for no mess, easy clean up. The foam was wrapped in plastic so the little beads did not stick to everything and go all over the place. The bed itself was easy to put together. Everything was included to put it together, no tools necessary other than the Allen key that is included. I was left with a few extra pieces as well, which I always appreciate. One of my favorite parts of the bed is the slats, genius! They each have heavy duty velcro on them, to help them stay in place. One thing I will say, and which is also apparent from the pictures, but something I wasnt thin about when I purchased this bed is that the mattress simply sits on it. On my old bed, the slats were a bit lowered, ma room for a bit of a lip, for the mattress to sit in place, this bed does not have that, so the mattress can move a bit, however, they provided sticky pads to keep the mattress in place, and they seem to be quite effective.

    roc bed

The quality and overall construction are very good but the legs dont seat properly so the bed rocks. Im forced to put a spacer under one of the legs to balance it out and that just shouldnt be necessary.

    Easy to assemble

Easy to assemble, looks good, very sturdy. Lost of space underneath for storage. Watch out for the posts at the center of the sides of the bed; if you are not used to them being there, you are likely to stub your toes.
