For the money this couch is great! My biggest complaint would be the fabric is a bit loose which you can see on the seat in the picture, but its not a big deal. We dont sit on it a lot, its in a guest bedroom and no one has slept on it yet but for this room its great! It feels pretty sturdy and looks nice over all. Well built!!
Wow! Its lovely! The product itself is high quality, seems durable, pretty comfortable for what the average comfort level of this style (but definitely still firm) and the sleeper option is great!! It feels very firm when you lay down but surprisingly comfy! I could totally sleep on this thing with no issues. It was very easy to assemble myself. Only issue was one of the holes wasnt perfectly drilled so I needed to fix it with a screw bit to fit in the screw. Overall, it took about an hour but probably could have done it in 20/30 min had all the holes been exactly right. Not hard at all! Came in one BIG box but I had to wait for a second person to bring it up my two flights of stairs cause it was heavy. We were able to roll it up together. It was left on my porch of apt which I disliked since I wrote a note to about not doing that, but oh well. Loving my new gorgine sofa!! Better than expected.
6 Month Update: Have had this about 6 months. It gets light use as it is in a home office. All of a sudden one side will not lock back into place after laying flat. Im disappointed that it has already failed after 6 months of light use. It has been slept on 3/4 times by my daughter when she visits for 1/ 2 nights. I have filed a warranty claim.
Original Review: Overall happy with this purchase. It will be used in my home office so it is not a main source of daily seating.
A few things to know: this is not a deep navy blue so if you want that you will be disappointed, I wanted this color tone that I saw in other reviews and was hoping thats what I would receive and was happy with my choice, easier to install it with 2 people, the leg install is tricky because of the angles (especially the bottom left screw on each outer leg), just be patient, keep the other screws loose and tighten after all are screwed in a bit.
It is firm but not uncomfortable to me (its not a sofa), I does make creaky noises when you sit on it but the less you weigh this probably wont be as much of an issue I am on the heavier side, you probably will want some pillows to make the corners more comfy, and lastly I will use a topper whenever someone sleeps on it so they dont feel the creases from the cushions.
Assembly took me and my husband about an hour due to the issues with getting that bottom left leg screw installed on each leg. Value.
We ordered the Split Back Futon (with the rectangular legs) and received the Vintage model with round, lathe turned legs and other differences. I could see this being a problem if you want a certain decor. For us, this one will work. It is very firm; you wont like sleeping on it if you like a very soft mattress. But again, for us, we are very pleased with it at this price. The green velvet is quite nice. Comfortable to sit on. Works great.
Im in love! The price, the quality, the feel. It has fool proof assembly. The price! Im honestly shocked that its considered a futon. Some reviews say its too firm or not comfortable. Its not uncomfortably firm (for me and my family) If your preference is a couch you sink into, this isnt it. I LOVE it. It folds easily. Its above and beyond what I expected! Worth a buy.
Love the color of this couch. The amount of sun in the room makes it appear goldenrod. Very easy to assemble and packaged well. The couch was wrapped in a mesh fabric to protect the velvet cover in transit. Arms were tucked underneath the seat of the couch. Took less than 30 minutes to attach the arms and feet. The seat seems firm and supportive. Its not my everyday couch and will serve as a guest bed in the office when needed. Good,
The fact that I assembled this couch all by myself with several neighbor kids and my own kids running around says a lot. Super easy to assemble. Very thoughtfully designed.
The bottom line is this couch looks awesome. Its perfect in the living room of my 1950s DC/area brick colonial with small rooms. Its soft as well.
It is NOT, however, comfortable in any way. Its like the perfect couch to have in one of those new but cheap boutique hotel rooms. For the price its a steal. But just know you will not be getting anything close to a memory foam feeling when you sit on it. I mainly got it for aesthetics and for some function without breaking the bank (while I wait for kids to get older so I can invest in a very nice couch again someday).
With a few tweaks this couch could be absolutely perfect. Definitely a more supportive back is a must for future design. Just as seen in the picture!!!

Lovely, Durable, Fairly Comfortable!

Nice, but we were sent a different sofa

Great couch!
This couch is perfect for our daughters playroom! Very comfortable! I would say it is more of a bubblegum pink, but still works perfectly. loves it!
Very very uncomfortable.
I liked the look of this futon, but it was as hard as a rock. It was terrible. No one would want to sit on it or sleep on it.
Worth the wait
