I love this bunkbed, its not that hard to put together, the only part I needed help with was putting the top bunk on top of the bottom bunk. Pretty sturdy, and it has a nice soft finish on it so no splinters.
Bought this for my seven year old. Took about an hour and a half to put together. My daughter loves it. We have had for over three months with no issues.

It is not a good bed for adults, as it doesnt have too much room between the bottom bunk and the top so there is no sitting up / but my girls love it and the price was totally worth it. This is a STURDY purchase and looks as pretty as the pictures. You do NOT need to purchase special mattresses, we just used the girls twin beds / pulled the mattresses off the box springs and put them in this bed. (We put the unneeded box springs and old bedframes on craigslist and they sold in less than 24 hours)
I purchased this bunk bed back in February and after reading the other reviews, figured it would be ok for the price. Well after about 7 months of use by my two daughters, I could see visible stress cracks all over the beds. The wood is of such low quality, that I started to worry about their safety. My girls are very mellow and I never once caught them jumping our rough housing on these, so I was a little shocked to see them degrade so quickly. As of today, I now have two beds that are next to each other. I am going to replace them with a high quality bunk bed in the next few months. Maybe others received better quality wood then I did, but I wouldnt recommend risking your childs safety with these.
Other points of concern.
1. paint is crap and flakes off
2. assembly isnt for those that cant read directions and spend the time doing it correctly
3. slats are very rough on both the top and bottom. So the child in the bottom bunk has a good chance to get slivers from it. My daughter did, so I sanded them smooth.
4. holes not aligned well. I had a few pieces that had holes that were not aligned well and it required a few modifications to correctly assemble.
The low price is incredible for the quality and sturdiness that we got with this bed fram Im super happy, my girls (5 and 4) will have these for a LONG time. Plus, when they get a lot older, we have the option of separating the bunk bed into two twin size beds. Most importantly, I love the low profile because I do not have high ceilings at home. They fit perfectly in a small room.

It does take a while to put together and there is a lot of hardware to screw together. Instructions are easy to follow and there are a lot of reinforcements to make the bed more sturdy. The 2 year old is on the bottom bunk and it is a pretty tight space under there. I dont know if a larger child would find that comfortable.
For the price this is a great bed, however, if you have bigger children this bed will not stand up to them for very long. I have 7 year old girl who weighs 45/50 lbs or so and she has already broken one of the ladder rungs. I would probably spend a little more and get a heavier duty bed.
Thats what pops up when you give something five/starts. in reality, I havent even seen it yet; I sent it to my grandchildren in another state and havent been down for a visit yet. However, from all reports, my grandchildren love it, and thats what counts. As for grandma and me, I think well stick to our Sleep Number.
