Sofa in a box. That is clearly the gimmick for this sofa / a sofa that is assembled at your home in one cardboard box. Now. its not a small box / after all it holds a sofa / but it is more rectangular and compact than a full/blown sofa would be. I kind of see it as more of a good deal for the manufacturer and the shipper than for the consumer, although I assume the do it yourself at home aspect of it means some theoretical cost advantage.
On to the sofa itself: its a cute, stylish little thing. Were in the midst of doing our theater room in grey, and this particular sofa fits right in with the grey walls and grey velvet curtains. Its a pretty comfortable seat, and you can stretch out on it a little. The Mrs. remarked that for a sofa in this price range the seemed higher quality than youd expect.
As to the assembly: I saw a well/written review that said it was almost prohibitively difficult to assemble, even for someone with a lifetime of put/it/together/at/home furniture assembly. I didnt find that at all. The manual wasnt particularly colorful or exciting / standard multi/lingual dull instructions and pretty obtuse stick/figure illustrations of assembly / but it was pretty self/explanatory and there werent a ton of parts. In summary: much easier than I was expecting: I assembled the whole thing alone in less than an hour. The back assembly was the trickiest part: after inserted posts into the seat/frame portion a hand/tightened screw is threaded and tightened through a hole in the side of the back frame into a corresponding threaded hole on the arm piece. I had to lean on the back a little to get the threads just so / but it wasnt that bad, and Ive cross/threaded many a home assembly furniture project.
I was given a sample of this product in exchange for this unbiased review, but it is a welcome addition to one of the nicest rooms in our quite nice house.
I purchased this loveseat about 18 months ago. I was rather wary at first to buy furniture online. But being disabled and without adequate transportation it was one of few choices I had. But I have to say, it was a great choice!
This piece is solid as a rock for one thing. It is more beautiful in real time and has held up wonderfully!
I have had more compliments on it than I can easily enumerate and I even have one friend that bought the same exact sofa for her TV room shortly after my purchase.
By far the best piece of furniture I have ever purchased. And should I ever have need for any other similar piece I will definitely check out the RTA line first. Youd be hard pressed to find a better deal or a better loveseat in this price range or even higher.
Update: March 17, 2019.
Still going strong. Cushions have held up beautifully with no sagging or smushing in the years since my purchase. Still get compliments and shes still a comfortable as the day I assembled her!
UPDATE2: May, 9, 2022
Its been six years since I purchased this loveseat and all the above still applies. Its still as comfortable as the day I got it! Worth every last dime!
This loveseat is very comfortable, looks and feels nice (not cheap), and is a great value overall. The 61 is the perfect size for a smaller room or apartment and the seating is ideal for people with shorter legs. I ordered the gray color and it matched the photo exactly. It was also very easy to assemble and can be done by one person (they recommend 2 people but it wasnt necessary). It also comes with 2 comfy throw pillows that are good quality too. My only complaints are that one of the bottom flaps had a small tear when I removed it from the box and the springs on the seats seem uneven (as in, the right side sinks down a bit deeper than the left side), but neither of those issues were a big deal to me and the benefits far outweigh the imperfections. Overall, Im very happy with this purchase!
Nice compact sofa, but I feel the quality of the cushions has gone down. I also own the RTA Palisades Collection 78 Sofa in Flagstone. I have had the other one for 3 years now. Both of these are nothing fancy, but when I compare the two, I prefer the one I bought 3 yrs ago. The cushions on the other one were much more firm. These cushions are just too soft. I ended up having to put a board underneath to keep from sinking way down. And I am by no means large. I weight just 125 lbs and sunk way down to the point that my back was uncomfortable. The Palisades from 3 yrs ago is still very firm.
Bother of these are not what you what consider deep seating, despite the title of this new one. I dont know if started using cheaper material, or cheaper manufacturing, but I can tell you the older one was definitely more comfortable, and has held up to occasional use. I would not recommend this for a room where it is used heavily every day. Its perfectly acceptable in a room where it just gets occasional use. I have it in my den and it looks nice and fits the bill for what I need.
If you need a sofa in a box to get up stairs and around corners, this is a great couch. I like the looks. Its a bit firm and I couldnt get the back to attach on the sides. Holes did not line up. Ill work on it some more/likely drilling new holes. Its in my office, so it works for my needs and those of my clients.
This sofa delivers on all fronts. It is good quality for the price/nothing too fancy, does the job capably.
Pros
/Shipped in a manageable box, easy to carry
/very easy to assemble, took less than 45 minutes (only took that long because we mixed up the sides and had to slightly disassemble)
/neutral color, goes with everything
/comfortable, not very firm
/deep seat, good for tall people
/comes with pillows in the same color as the sofa, we put them on accent chairs.
Cons
/not long enough to lay down on if you are more than 55 (only a con for tall people)
/cushions sometimes slide out, may need to add velcro
All in all, a very serviceable sofa for a smaller room, or as an accent piece with more furniture.

Beautiful, solid and worth every penny.

Nice, but quality of these appears to have gone down over the years.

Three Stars
Not quite what I was expecting quality isnt as great as it should have been.
Great Couch
Great Couch. It has good support and is not overly big so it fits in our small house nicely. The assembled parts all feel like they are good quality.
Minimal packaging, easy set up
Super impressed with the minimal packaging and intelligent design for set up. Its also very comfortable.
Great solution. Difficulty assembling completely.
