Product was delivered undamaged and was super easy to assemble. Only downside is that the bottom leg peg, which is the final piece on the underside, was missing from my packaging. BUT I dont think ill go through the hassle of contacting the distributor because it looks and feels as though its sturdy enough without it. Still overall happy with my purchase.
Its sturdy and a good quality for the price. I was impressed. But it did not come with directions on how to put it together so I just had to wing it and figure it out on my own. Good thing its not rocket science. It was rather easy to put together but would have been easier if I had directions.
The console table was simple to put together. The white portions seem to be made of real wood. The top is veneer. I purchased this and the coffee table which is of the same quality. But the tops do not match... the coffee table top appears to be driftwood veneer. But the console is plane wood grain and a bit lighter tone which is not driftwood in appearance. Thats okay for my ensemble because the two tables are not close together in the room. I wont purchase the end tables because who knows what the tops would be like, the same or completely different than the two tables I purchased. I must add that both of the tables are sturdy and look lovely.
So this table is pretty much everything I wanted it to be. the color is great and goes well with my other pieces. the texture is not a real wood grain though, its just a vinyl (?) sticker or something to make it look like wood grain, which is fine, you cant tell unless you touch it. the split shelves are nice for holding books and other small things. they even gave you wood grained stickers to cover the screws but they only have me 7 and there are 12 screws...
it is a little wobbly. my cat jumped on it and the whole thing shook, I was nervous stuff may fall off, but once I put some heavier things on the bottom shelf it may be a different story. (wobbling may also be caused by improper pieces, see below) certainly not putting anything breakable up top for now. it does come with materials to mount it to the wall for more stability but that isnt really an option with my layout.
my only real negative is that during the building phase my boyfriend and I determined we were given 3 6 pieces and 1 4, instead of two of each, which meant we had one piece with the brackets on the wrong side. thankfully we decided to flip it around and while that piece cant be screwed in properly, the shelf board seems to hold it all together, not a complete loss, just not quite right. you cant tell visually that its wrong though.
Overall, I think it was definitely worth the buy.
