Ive had this bed for 9 months now. I love the color and I love the versatility of having it set up as a bunk bed or as 2 twin beds. The only thing I wish was different is that I wish the ladder was removable so when I have smaller children over I wouldnt have to worry about them climbing up. Other than that, it has held up great and we still love it. I definitely recommend.
Wood is very soft and scratches easily. Some of the pieces appear to have come from another set and had slight damage from a previous attempted assembly. When assembled as a bunk bed, the top bunk shakes considerably with the slightest movement. The latter is not as shown in the picture. Not a lot of directions given but enough to get it assembled.
The boys love this bed. Seems sturdy and well made. The instructions leave a bit to be desired, however. Just illustrations with arrows. I had to undo a few things during construction because pieces were not marked and several pieces look the same except a hole or two.
So happy with this bunkbed! The gray is exactly what I was hoping for. It took me about 6 straight hours to put it together and it wouldve been easier if all parts had been labeled rather than just a few, but it all went together perfectly and all parts were there. I was surprised by the 2 fairly small boxes that were to contain an entire bunkbed set, but it was all there. So nice when you get what you were hoping for. They look great!
I waffled between giving it a 3 star and a 4 star review. Decided to go with 4 star because my issue with this bunk bed was not specifically an issue with the bed quality itself.
I feel should SEPARATE the bunk bed from the blue and cherry colored ones due to the beds NOT being the same product in their entirety. Both the blue and cherry colored bunk beds come with a straight ladder (box ladder is what they are called I believe). The bunk bed comes with a slanted ladder. Due to the way the reviews read it appears most people received bunk beds with straight ladders (box ladder style) and one would assume that all 3 were that style.
This is not the case and buyers should beware to not assume incorrectly (As I did). The one brings a slanted ladder! I ended up returning it for this reason / but prior to return I did inspect the parts and boxes and I must say the wood felt and appeared to be solid quality! Definitely looked to be worth the asking price and generally better sturdiness than comparable brands in this price range.
Tried to send these to a dear friend who had children on the floor. She moved before the box could be delivered, so they were refused. Im glad the new owners didnt keep um.
