When purchasing I thought that the bar was made of wood. It is not. Its metal. Its not very sturdy, but ok to use if youre not putting any weight on it. Im using this bar for home use only. Ive been doing ballet barre classes for 5 years, want to be able to practice at home as well as in the studio. I wouldnt recommend this particular bar for children. Its way too wobbly.
This was easy to put together and fits in my daughters room perfectly. Its light weight so she can push it against the wall when shes done with it. You can adjust the height also.
My 10 year old granddaughter was very excited to receive this. She can now practice at home. She loves it.
It was very sturdy, DIL put it together in minutes. Adjustable height is great!
Overall, this is a great product. Super easy to assemble, pretty good-looking for some hardware and powder-coated metal to look like wood. My only complaint is that the button for where the two pieces of the barre connect is in an ideal hand placement spot. I put it on the underside, but I did not realize it would be there when purchasing (I may have missed it in photos).
Otherwise, this is a great piece and works perfectly for both barre workouts and ballet barre work.

Nice bar but scratches easily.
Nice bar, sturdy and lovely in person however paint scratches easily when you adjust the bar height. Sad ours looks old already and its new.

Had to tighten extremely hard to achieve sturdiness. But other then that worth every penny.
