Though there were a LOT of parts, no extra pieces (faulty screw meant I had to go to a hardware store to get a replacement), and it took a LOT of time. the end result is solid and beautiful! Absolutely no regrets!
Very cute and not difficult to assemble. The only downfall, in my opinion, is that the main support boards in the middle of the bed, which bear weight and support the , are made of particle board.
The quality of materials is a lot better than a 14year old frame I had beforehand, but there are a couple issues:
I absolutely hate the planks of under. They move out of place, and they are all just short enough that they barely fit into the guides and will pop out, if I can get a single piece of wood instead of individual planks I would be able to sleep better. Now this could also just happen to be a manufacturing error, Id rather it be too long by a little bit, Im sure we got some peeps willing to do some wood cutting.
The second sort of has to do with the first note, the end of my bed bows out a little bit, causing the planks not to fit properly, and with that extra play I believe caused screws to strip the wood so now the frame isnt secured. Almost better to just put your mattress on the floor. Or make a bed frame out of the frame of a car The are roomy and great use of space with the 6 of them.
Check out the other drawer storage bed frame for good instructions on reinforcing it when you first assemble it. You will need additional L brackets, tape for the slats to get snug in their slots, a sander or lots of time with sandpaper, and some thin and tall wood screws to hold the slats down to the inner support pieces. When you reinforce it as instructed in the other review, you must remember to also sand the slats after you install them and put in the screws through the middle. Then you will have a splinter/free surface to lay your mattress. Also, put together your early and make sure you have enough clearance to install them all on both sides, if you are putting together this bed near any walls or furniture that may hinder you. I learned that the hard way.
If any of you need the instructions for reinforcing and stabilizing the bed for longevity and quiet, request another review and I can give step by step instructions and possibly photos to assist your build.
I assembled this myself. If you have a can/do attitude this shouldnt be too hard. Best to just take your time. During the assembly the only things I had problems with were aligning the brackets in correspondence to the direction of the drawer/support board. Just take your time and really analyze the picture. The other issue I ran into was laying the slats along with the final foot/head board. You want to place your slats and any other addition slat boards in place first, then fully tighten the final foot/head board. Neither issue caused much trouble; I did this at the end of a work day. I would even go as far as recommending you buy five 1x3x8s and cutting them to how ever many inches long for additional support in between each slat. I have a Purple Mattress and I felt more support when I added those. I would also recommend stops to place at the two top corners of each drawer to prevent slamming and damage. are holding up, no crea or squea. I am currently deciding whether I want to add handles to each drawer, because I have nails and they scraped through some of the paint.
We are so happy with this purchase! Comfortable as a box spring, great use for under the bed space, not super obvious that its a storage bed. Very much love it!
I would have given a rating of 5 stars but the bed did come with a little dings and putting it together does take awhile. You definitely will need a drill gun. It makes it so much easier. And having an extra hand also helps. Besides that love the bed. I bought it for my son. He has a small room and with the draws underneath gives him extra space that he needs. He loves it.
It took my husband 6 hours to put together. The material is what you expect for an online furniture purchase. I bought a bunkie board to use with a memory foam mattress.

We really need to get rid of wood planks

Great design and storage space, just be sure to do some extra reinforcing for longevity and quiet

Its a great, sturdy
This bed took a lot of effort and time to put together well, but it was worth it. Its a great, sturdy bed
The only additional tool needed is a philips screwdriver! Allen wrench included.
