I did a ton of research when purchasing a bunk bed and ended up with this one for my 7 and 2 year old boys. I chose this one because of the high weight capacity on the top bunk and the height of the top bunk (we can sit on the bottom bunk with plenty of head clearance). We also liked that we could get a separate standalone twin bed frame from the same company that matched for when our youngest son moves into the room. The bed has held up well over the past year. Its definitely been jumped and climbed on by the boys and its been fine. It does wobble a little more than I like and the ladder is a challenge for an adult to climb up, which is why I gave 4 stars. Overall Im still happy with this purchase. My father is a very experienced woodworker and he complimented the beds construction after he put it together. I think this is the best bunk bed option at this price point.
No one has slept in it yet, but it is ready for use.
The good things: The materials provided seemed to be of great quality for the most part (see be for exceptions). The finish on the parts were great. The instructions were logically laid out and the illustrations went a long way towards making this a successful operation. I particularly liked the tape that they used on the lattice structure to help with spacing. That made the job of attaching the lattice to the bed frame easier.
The not so great things: With some power tools, it took 6 hours of actual assembly time. If you use the recommended screwdriver and supplied Allen wrench I could see it taking longer. The next not so great thing is that one of the pieces had a mis/drilled hole which I had to over/drill in order to make the board line up properly. I decided to make the hole rather than wait for a replacement part to arrive as I needed the bed to function sooner rather than later.
Other thoughts:
1. There are a lot pieces. It requires a lot of space to be efficient in assembling it.
2. It would be better to have the bottom half assembled first. The instructions are not clear on that.
Bed looks nice, seems sturdy enough. I was worried about the slats being too far apart, but the bar stabilizes everything well. Had some cracked wood in the headboards and footboards, but fortunately not where it shows or creates a usability problem. Has a strong paint smell so you might give it a few days to air before anyone sleeps in a room with it. Could have used more hole caps for the many exposed screw holes. There were about half a dozen, I think, but you need about 2 dozen for all the exposed holes.
Heres my biggest complaint, and I know its sounds trivial but turning out to not be trivial. Theres a large 3x12 ugly warning sticker on the outward/facing end of the top bunk. I peeled it off because its right where we walk into this room. The adhesive is nasty sticky and WILL NOT COME OFF. Ive tried goo gone, oil, 91 alcohol. Not sure what else to try that wont damage the finish. Its nasty enough had I known, I might not have ordered the bed even though it works perfectly for our needs. That big sticky spot is surely going to collect dirt and drive me nuts, and I cant believe I cant get it off because label adhesive is a pet peeve so I can usually figure out how the heck to get it off. At this price point, cant yall provide better quality adhesive?
Love this bunk bed; but daughters love it even more. Way bigger than I expected but even better. It does take a while to put together but its a great time and fun project to do together with the family

Still happy after a year of use

Love it!!!
Very good quality
Great toddler bed
4 year old helped assemble, fun project together. Though the slats were not easy. Great guest bed for company, too
Great bunkbeds
These bunks are for smaller children. Not much head clearance for adults getting in and out. That being said they are very nice.
Very Good bed
Best Quality
It took me two days to assemble
It needs a screwdriver to assemble, but its tool box doesnt have one.
Looks great once put together

Sticky label adhesive ruins it!
