A pain in the to put together. One part was terrible because you had to match up screws and other hardware (forget what theyre called) and it was nearly impossible to match up. Ended up cracking a piece off one of the boards. Had to gorilla glue it. Looks very nice, but I wont be buying brand furniture again.
You cant beat the price of this bed and it is a cinch to put together. My 14 year old assembled hers all by herself in just over a couple of hours. The bed is sturdier than you would expect for the price and is very nice to look at. Weve had this for a little over two months and have zero complaints.
I purchased this for my master bedroom after an order I placed with West Elm for a similar item became back ordered for 60 days. I needed a simple transitional / modern bed frame to compliment a floor to ceiling tufted headboard I am having made for my bed. This fit the bill perfectly. The finish is a rich espresso brown with red/burgundy undertones. The coloration is smooth and even across the frame. The pieces are solid wood and the support slats seem to be durable.
Assembling the piece was not too hard but was definitely a two person job. Im female and assembled it with the help of my sister in law because my hubby was out of town. Neither of us are used to assembling furniture AT ALL but were able to get the job done. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Once completed, the frame looked great. It is sleek and attractive; a perfect foil for the more interesting things I have going on in the room. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone considering it.
Be aware. Your mattress or mattress / box spring combo will sit 14 inches off the floor with this frame. I like a high bed so I was fine with the top of my bed being a total of 33 off the ground. (The only problem is finding nightstands that tall.) But if you want a lower bed you should use your mattress only or buy a half height box spring.
I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this bed for my son after reading the other reviews. I am a single mom who is not very good at putting things together, but at this price, I couldnt resist attempting it, and Im glad I did! I found the directions to be VERY easy to follow, I took my time and read each step and made sure I was doing everything exactly as directed. It took me about 4 hours, which Im sure many people would consider to be too much time to spend on this kind of task, but keep in mind that I did it completely on my own, and I had already planned on spending a full day working on it and was very pleased that it didnt take quite that long! The bed is very sturdy - my 8 year old son and I can lay on it together without worrying that its going to collapse - and I love how it looks in his room. The only complaint I have with it is that there were a couple times that the holes didnt line up just right (on the drawers only), and I read about other people having this issue too, however I was able to make it work without having to use power tools, so Im sure anyone else could too. If youre thinking about purchasing this bed, I encourage you to do it. I love it, my son loves it, and as long as you keep in mind that you get what you pay for, Im sure you will too!

Delivery was per expectations. Assembly was straight-forward. Still trying to decide on the quality of XL twin mattress to buy. But even without the longer mattress, my extra tall daughter is happy with the greater leg room.
We were a little uncertain of the platform style, but it is so sleek! We upgraded to a king size from a queen and were worried about it overtaking our bedroom, but because this has such clean lines and sits lower, it wasnt an issue at all. This bed is also much sturdier than it looks. Great purchase. Awesome price.
I added a layer of 1/4 pegboard on top of the slats. The holes in the pegboard allow the mattress to still breathe while giving better support than the slats. If youre mattress has individual pocket coils, you definitely need a better foundation than just the slats. Do what I did and use some cheap pegboard.
Also, I dabbed a little thread locker onto the bolts before tightening everything together.
I was impressed with the quality and design of the frame (and the well written instructions) up until I got to the assembly of the drawers. The materials were cheap (one piece broke during assembly), the design was poor (you have to use nails) and the craftsmanship of the pre-drilled holes was shoddy (nothing fit particularly well and the holes were unfinished with lots of chipping and splinters). It is as if the frame and drawers were provided by to entirely different companies.
The bed is very pretty.bigger than it looks in the picture. The headboard will seem huge unless you get European pilloss so its not all just headboard. I got an extra high mattress and so it works well. I just feel VERY high up in the air and have to get used to that. Inf fact, had to even buy a stepstool. But very pretty.
