Needed a narrow island that could also double as a work space/table. I found this easier to assemble than several other comments suggested. It took some time, however I was able to do most of it on my own. It was longer than I wanted, so I removed the spice rack and towel bars on the ends. It does leave holes that I will have to plug, but it fits so much better this way. The cabinet space is roomier than I anticipated, and the shelves are movable. TWO things: 1) this comes in one box that is heavy AF. We had to open the box and bring pieces inside. 2) the only part that didn't require assembly was the hinge top, and the installation of the hinges on the doors. Everything else has to be put together. I found the instructions easy to follow and was able to put it together with no problem.
Overall - very pleased!
We love this rolling kitchen island. Easy assembly instructions. Very sturdy, ample storage. We roll it to the center of our kitchen when were cooking/baking and roll it out of the way when were done. We have a pretty small kitchen so the fact that this island is moveable is why we purchased it. The top extension is also a wonderful feature!
This item is nice but is not as sturdy as I would have imagined. It is definitely not worth $300.00. I am very disappointed in the quality of finished item.
This is a really solid addition to my kitchen. The tuck-away leaf is great for entertaining, as it provides additional surface space.
Things to be aware of:
- Don't use the wood top as a cutting surface. It will scratch easily.
- The spice rack piece on one side is a bit flimsy. I can't comment on the the paper towel holder (we ended up not using it, as we put this island next to another cabinet), but the rod from the spice rack oftentimes comes out of place. Probably could be solved with some glue, but just a heads up.
Otherwise: this is a great unit for the price.
Instructions were well illustrated and the sequence given, when followed, was the best. As I actually follow directions I would emphasize that a thorough inventory of parts be taken first. We love the island. Great quality. Lots of baking being done there. There is enough storage for a large mixer, baking goods, and 3 sturdy drawers for utensils.
Knocked down 1 star for lingering chemical smell when opening drawers and cabinet (took a month to calm down)... but we otherwise love it. Doors aligned nicely and matches our white kitchen cabinets well.
It was as advertised. Typical composite construction but plan on a few hours for assembly if you follow instructions. Two people makes it easier. One complaint is that the wheels are a hard rubber so its noisy on hard floors or tile. Might be better when loaded with stuff.
The drawer backs are either not drilled big enough or the screws were to large. It split and I had to put some wood glue in each crack
During shipping I suspect, the damage to the top occurred. AND OF COURSE it's half way down on the FRONT. So I will have to repair that. Over all not a bad product. Get what ya pay for as usual.
UPDATE 2/2021:
WELL it's been holding up good as expected BUT...the center shelf doesn't hold much weight for such a large span...AND the shelving inside are cut just a bit short so that when there is weight on it it falls off the cheap short shelving bracing.
Just built this for my daughters apartment. Perfect size. Looks really nice. Sturdier than I expected. Took me 2 hours to assemble, but I took my time and it turned out great. I also added wood glue to the dowels as I was assembling. Probably not necessary, but thought why not. The box arrived looking terrible, but everything inside was perfect. The packaging is messy, but if you slowly unpack the parts and place the Styrofoam in the box top, it's not that bad. When building the drawers, make sure the rollers are at the back of the drawer. Hope that helps.

Great fully functional addition to our kitchen.

It's pretty good with the exception of damage during delivery.
