Im the mother of 3 boys and put this together with no problems. Directions were very clear and once put together, it yielded a beautiful bed. The product was shipped very secure which gave us bed pieces that were unblemished. The top bunk is a little lower than our prior twin bunk bed but over all, beautiful and sturdy bed.
We bought this bunk bed a few weeks ago and we are still talking about how much we love it! We were considering building our own bunk beds as a way to save some money. Then we saw this bunk bed and the incredible price and free shipping. We knew building our own would be a little cheaper but would not look nearly as nice. We were a little concerned that because of the low price that the quality would be very poor. To our delight the quality is great! They look very nice and are very sturdy and secure! I feel completely comfortable letting my kids sleep in these beds as well as myself climbing up top to tuck my kids in.
First of all it arrived earlier than expected. Second, the packaging was incredible! We were amazed at how well protected it was. So we began putting it together. As I saw in an earlier review the instructions are not extensive, there actually arent any words on the instructions, just diagrams. However, we were able to follow them just fine and had no trouble putting it together. It took my husband and I (along with some help from our 4 and 6 years old boys which probably slowed us down) 3 hours and 15 minutes to put together. And that was with one quick correction we had to make. We didnt pay attention to the holes in one of the lower bunk side beams that are for the ladder, so we had to remove the 2 lower side beams and switch them.
Overall we are extremely happy with our purchase! We still keep going in our kids bedroom to look at them! This is one of the best purchases we have ever made.
This bunk bed is a decent buy. The CONS I have are, the wood frame of the bed is not of heavy duty quality and the directions could be a lot better. The PROS are, it is fairly easy to assemble even for one person, and the bunk bed slats are very good.
Was easy to assemble (by myself) and is nice looking. My kids (3 and 6) love playing on it and is roomy enough for the kids to share, whenever they want.
This bed was easy to put together by myself in a day with no power tools. (Could have been even easier if I had a drill handy.) It looks great, but is a lot lower than I imagined. I use a thin mattress on the bottom bunk and still wont be able to sit up in bed without hitting my head. A furniture designer friend of mine suggested that we can get some pine and replace the four legs of the top bunk with pieces about a foot longer and color match/ stain, and modify the ladder, but that will require more time and money spent. Good space saver, but dont buy this one if you want to be able to sit up on the bottom bunk.
Overall, pleased with the purchase. The reason it did not get five stars is that it is not quite as solid as I think it should be. By that, I mean that when my son climbs up to the top bunk, the whole bed shakes.
Im a little disappointed that its not steadier. For comparison, we have a twin set of bunk beds (bought 8.5 years ago for about 1/2 the price), and he can climb on that one without the whole thing shaking.

Good for guest or kids room. For every day use I would easily have spent another $200 for a thicker wood one.
No headroom on the bottom bunk, but easy assembly and nice looking bed.
