This fit prefect in my mud room area. It cleaned up all my shoes in the area and the hooks are low enough for my 7 and 9 year old to reach everything. Plus I bought baskets for the shelves and everyone has their own with hats, gloves, and scarfs so that cleaned up that mess and avoids the question I get from my kids, where is my hat mom?
The unit is very sturdy, I dont worry about it falling over. I can sit on it to put my shoes on (and I weigh 180) and its not going to break. The assembly was done by my husband and it took him about three hours in one evening. But he said the directions were clear and he wasnt confused on what needed to be done next. None of the pieces were chipped or scratched, however since it is not real wood, I can see this getting banged up in my mud room but so far so good. We have owned it for about 6 weeks and so far we are very happy with it and we have gotten a lot of compliments on it.
Easy to assemble. Thought the back would of been the same grade of MDF. Instead its a laminated cardboard. Also the way the hooks attached probably cant hold more than a pound of weight. The wood screws were about a quarter inch in length. I ended up drilling through and attaching the hooks with a nut and bolt.
