Have had these bunk beds for three months now for my 4 and 5 year old boys. Excellent quality! Perfect size for them now but will work well for years to come. Other reviews are accurate. pleasantly surprised with the storage capacity of the drawers. I like that the bunk bed overall is proportionally sized for this age range so the top bunk only about 5 in the air. So when that day inevitably comes when one pushes the other off the top bunk (which will take considerable doing considering the large side rails) they wont have as far to fall. In our case theres only a ceiling light and a few windows in the room, so at night the bottom bunk was so dim it was hard to read a bedtime story. We fixed that by buying a plug-in LED strip/bar light with a touch sensor and used command strips to stick it to the top of the lower bunks headboard. Voila! And he thinks having his own light is the best! I also added a few command strips with the metal hooks that pivot to the underside of the top bunk and the ceiling. That way each kid gets their own personal hook to hang stuff from (homemade Christmas ornaments, mini flashlight, etc).
This bed is falling apart - pieces are chipping away, drawers are hard to open/close, shaky overall, assembly fasteners and screws are from 2 centuries ago.
This is a beautiful bunk bed set. It came in 5 boxes, but had no damage or missing parts. The assembly was a little daunting, but with the help of my father in law, we were able to fully put it together in about 6 hours.
The boxes all comes labeled (box 1, box 2, etc) and it very important to open them in order. Every few boxes comes with its own tools, hardware and instructions, which was very nice. It was a big project but the end result is amazing.
The bunk beds are awesome looking, seem very sturdy, and the kids love them. We are very, very pleased with this purchase! I would highly recommend these bunk beds to friends and family. Love them!
After final assembly this bed is very cute and very sturdy seeming. It came with enough parts to assemble and aside from a minor scratch or two the wood was in good condition. This took two of us the better part of 6 or 7 hours to assemble. That said, its worth it. I couldnt find a similar style of bunk bed anywhere at my local furniture stores (both big name and mom/pop) and I knew I really wanted the stairs. I grew up with the traditional ladder bunk and as our youngest would make me nervous with a ladder. This bed is sturdy and far more well made than my childhood bunks, the slats under the top bunk mattress are reinforced with an extra bar and the railing is also very sturdy. This bed is colossal and takes up a pretty decent amount of space, but it allowed us to get rid of dressers due to the massive amount of storage space provided in the drawers. Please note that the bottom drawers under the bed are not on tracks, these just have casters that easily roll on our patterned Berber carper. My biggest concern for this bed is how the drawers hold up over time as kids are very hard on furniture anyways and I have already seen them standing in the drawers.
The amount of garbage that this is packed in is ridiculous, be prepared for three garbage bags stuffed full of bags and Styrofoam and a massive stack of cardboard. While Im grateful it arrived undamaged its kinda of obscene how much trash there was.
It was in wet boxes because it was pouring that day and we got everything out and made sure it was all dry. Yes it was it took 3 days to put together. Im not good at that stuff . But its beautiful and my grandson loves it And even though it got lost it it turned out perfect
so happy with the purchase. It took 6 hours with a break. The directions are only visual diagram directions. Pay attention to the visual placements as far as screw holes, etc. You do not need a drill even when there is not pre designated holes - the wood in pine but still soft enough to push the screw into placement and then screw in. My daughter and I put it together our selves. I would suggest the when putting together the top bed you dont add the last mattress slot nearest to where you want the steps to be until you put the stair rail up top on, cuz youll need to get an angle that is in the way - we put it all together and just had to undo it and then screw back in again - so dont worry about it if you make a mistake. One other suggestion is that when you build the lower bunk bed, I would put in the frame bracket one screw in (see the diagram of that last placement to make it make sense)- that way when your finishing the stairs youll only have to get under the bed to screw the other bracket into the staircase. We didnt know it so since this is a final bed direction, it was a difficult angle to get from under a small space - and if your not an average built it might be impossible to angle in. The staircase has a portion that goes behind the bed area (2-3 inches), it does not have predrilled holes - you dont need predrilled - we pushed screwed them in - one of us starting at the top, the other at the bottom and pushing the wood together screwing in toward the middle - sounds more difficult that it was - it was super easy. My 4 year old twin granddaughters just love it - best purchase ever..

Worth buying
