Clear instructions. Easy to assemble with two people, about 2 hours. Great value for the quality. Minor damage to one piece, quality control issue most likely. Item was packaged well.
Bought this bunk bed primarly for my 11-year old , but she's sharing it with an older sister. Overall, we love the look and the solid wood, as well as the underbed storage. The bed was very easy to put together, too.
Our overall issues, however, are the bed is flimsy and literally cannot support a quality mattress and a teen or adult. On top of that, the ladder cuts into the full-size mattress.
Issue 1 - flimsiness. With almost no effort or pressure I can make the bed frame shift and wobble with nobody in it and with all bolts firmly tightened. Structurally, it's just not that solid.
Issue 2 - support. Please see the image with the planks above. The circled plank is an example of what comes with the bed - a few thin, widely dispersed planks that are supposed to support a full-size mattress. One significant issue with this, structurally, is there's no center rail to provide stability or support. There are only two fairly flimsy legs that with one screw each that are offset from center to allow for room for the underbed storage. There's no other support. When I put the full size mattress on, by itself, I could see bowing. As a structure test, I--a 200 man--laid on the mattress and we could see it bow significantly. Granted, I'm not sleeping in it, but it's obviously not very strong. I shopped around for a bunky board, but ended up buying extra 1X4 wood planks to provide support. After doing so, I could lay on the mattress without it noticeably bowing unlesss I actually moved around.
Issue 3 - not enough room for the mattress. Please see the image of the mattress being compressed by the ladder. This is a Zinus – Cloud Memory Foam 12 Inch Mattress we bought specifically for this bed. Yes, it's thick, but I read a review from another customer who said they had a 9 mattress fit with no issues. As you can see, even 9 wouldn't fit very well, especially with bedding. Also, the mattress hadn't even fully reached it's size because it was brand new.
All-in-all, we'll probably live with it because it meets a need and it's too much of a pain to disassemble and ship back, but I honestly wouldn't recommend it. I looked at another bed that looks almost identical from Merax and it clearly shows a center beam with 3 legs for less money than I paid for this. Even crazier, there's another bed listed from THIS SAME COMPANY (Harper and Bright Designs) using the exact same images EXCEPT it shows a center beam and 3 legs, whereas the images for the bed I bought don't show a center beam and only has 2 legs. The difference, even though they're the same bed from the same company? I paid $329.99 $49 shipping, whereas the bed with the center rail and 3 legs costs $399 and has free shipping. They are sold by different merchants, however.
Honestly, we're just disappointed, overall.
This bed is for my little one who will soon be sharing a room with her little sister. The weight limit is definitely a concern of mine, because the slats do not seem sturdy. The drawers are not on tracks, but rollers. I dont anticipate this piece of furniture lasting 6years.
The shipping of this bed was very frustrating, the bed is sent in 2 boxes. FedEx delivered one box to me, the other box to another customer. It took 3 weeks before it was all straightened out and I had received all the pieces to the bed. The company did not refund me any percentage of the money.
Product will stand and look good. Use should be fairly gentle as bed is not heavy and does flex when jumped onto by 4 yr old boy. Instructions are not clear but can be followed. You will notice mistake 2steps after in assembly then have to undo and redo, so bring patience.
Manufacture damage can also be an issue. I was lucky and only had minor damage. In end the bed is good, steps are steep and short but easy to climb.
Lower bed is strong enough to hold my weight. I weigh about 215lbs. Many many many screws and I still came up short one.
Overall satisfied, it will last and work.
We picked this bed because we have a small space. Dimensions are very accurate.
1.Double check were the air vents are, solid sides limit where we can actually put the bed and we will be only using one drawer due to the vent.
2.the drawers the are on rollers on the floor- doesn't work great on semi shag carpets
3. Mattress size for top 6 and we got 6 inch for bottom (up to a 10 in is probably fine). 6inch Works great and doesn't cut into ladder. There is a few inches of a gap with the mattress if it is up against the wall you have a few inches from the ladder or bring mattress forward and you have a gap in back of the bed.
4. All parts were there some labeled differently but worked out having all pieces. Missing only two screws for the ladder and we ended up with extra long screws that did not work for ladder. Top bunk slats really should be painted espresso just ugly to look up at.
5. Only piece that is not super sturdy is the top bunk safety. It really should be attached to the side but like having the option to put ladder on one side or other.

Good quality product
My boys love it.
Pretty, solid wood bed, but it's flimsy and can't suport a quality full mattress teen/adult

Fair, but not great buy.

My toddler loves his new bed
Easy to build, a little sketchy up top if over 100lbs. Drawers would be better if they were on tracks and not free floating.
Make sure all pieces are there
Missing parts to bed. The bottom drawer didn't come with all part so was unable to put the bottom drawer together. But other that it's a nice bump bed
It was a bit difficult to assemble.
My daughter loves it.
It will do the job and look good
