Strong VOC smell! Fairly easy to put together and feels sturdy but the smell is very strong. I bought this because it said low VOC in the description and I am very disappointed. should not have been priced as high as it was
Its working out well for my 2 kids under the age of 8, though the one on the bottom bunk keeps bumping his head against the metal bar. But no matter how much we open the windows, air out the room, get fans blowing, etc., the extremely strong chemical smell will not subside. Honestly I feel uncomfortable having my kids sleep in that toxic fume producing bunkbed, but its hard to return large furniture thru , especially after youve built it. The noVOC claim is a lie. Im fairly disappointed.
Its very low profile. My existing 15 mattress really doesnt fit in bottom. 3 year old cant sit up in bed. You want no more than 8 down there. Ladder/Steps are kinda loose. Kids will rip them out soon for sure.
But, easy to access top bunk. Great for low ceiling rooms. Seems sturdy from here.
Just wish there was a recommendation for bottom mattress size, like there is for top,yet.
A very visible crack in the front. A metal piece is missing inside a wood piece where screw goes. Cant put a screw there, so that was a problem!!there is a hole there.
Seemed great when first assembled, but now its a few months later. Im sure this bed is fine for gentle kids, but if your kids run and jump and hang and swing, this bed starts coming apart. My 4yearold and 6yearold (girls) bent the ladder hangers immediately and now the whole thing is starting to get wobbly. Might be ok for occasional guests but doesnt last too long with real kids. I dont think itll last more than a few years!
I so wanted to love this bed! It was a great hight for our basement. I liked that I could reach the kid on top. Well after one night and about an hour of my six and four year olds playing on it. The wood broke already!Terrible quality
I just put this together today and while Im happy about the look and sturdiness of it, Im very disappointed with the smell! It has a terribly strong perfume like smell, which surprised me in a low voc product. I feel like the description is misleading because of this and I wont let my young kids sleep in their room until the smell wears away, which is really disruptive. Buyer beware to let your box breath outside the house for some time before assembling. Other than that, its a great product!

Poor sturdiness
Not sturdy. Baseboard cracking under a 90lb childs wieght on top bunk. Supposodley a 400lb weight limit. it was quite disappointing
