We purchased this bed for my 7 year old son. We assembled the bed in about 2 hours. I used my sons previous regular mattress on the loft and it fit perfectly with space on top. The ladder is kind of painful for me but my son has no problems with it. He can climb over and out with ease. He loves it because he can touch the ceiling and I love it because I can fit his lego table and accessories underneath giving him more floor space.

Easier if it had clear instructions!

Very streamlined design and fits our girls Star Wars inspired bedroom theme. The instructions are very vague when it comes to the proper alignment of the frame rails that the ladder attaches to, and even though I was sure I had been very careful to assemble them in their proper manner, found that they were actually upside down and I had to take apart the whole second story section of the bunk frame! An extra hour was wasted repeating all the work. The four star rating is for that obscure instruction sheet. *A word if I may, about the slightly wobbly nature of the metal bed frame. We had a metal frame loft bed for my oldest son, and it had that same creaky wobble to it, so apparently thats the trade-off for not using wood that could split or break under duress of kids playing on/in it. It never gave way under his weight or his indelicate handling of the loft frame, so we knew there was nothing to fear about this same issue with this bed. I have to say that it was very difficult to get it apart when attempting to turn the frame rails 180 degrees, which speaks to the sturdiness of the metal and its connections.

Not as sturdy as I would have liked and ladder is provided for only one side, not for both as in the photo.

This bed is MUCH bigger than I thought it would be. Its a great bed. The only issue is that the ladder is extremely uncomfortable. As other people have suggested, use foam or pool noodles to make the steps more comfortable.

    I love the clear instructions

My 8-year-old girl put this together with just a little bit of help. I love the clear instructions. The frame itself rolls easily on carpet to stow away the trundle which we use nearly every night. Its very sturdy. Couldnt be happier with this bed frame and I highly recommend it to all my friends.

Great for my little girl and guests!!

This bed is very sturdy. My little girl is in the upper bunk (when she finally sleeps in her bed and the bottom is used for guests. It does not squeak like my other one for my son. Concerned at first as it comes in pieces but really it is good.

    Basic and functional.

This took two people 3 hours to assemble. It is basic and functional for the price. The metal ladder isnt comfortable to climb. I suggest wrapping the rungs in padding to make it less painful for little feet to climb.

Sturdy and low enough to fit with a pillow top mattress under our bed. It would be easier to lineup with the bed if the wheels could rotate to move in more directions than just side to side. Overall though, a very good value.

Started to get very very wobbly after a year

Bought this for my 100Ib sister. Was great for a while then started to get sooo shaky that she refused to sleep on it any longer. Screws came flying out gradually. Was a pain to take apart.
