This bed has been very durable and has withstood the test of hyperactive kids. The only thing I would change is that the bars on the ladder have such a small roundness to them they hurt your feet when climbing it. I went and got some plumbing insulation to cover them and provide cushion. So far no more complaints about hurting feet!
We bought this twin over twin bunk bed for our 1.5 and almost 3 year old. We picked it because we could start off using it as two twin beds side by side (see the third picture on the description. This two separate twin bed configuration is how we are planning on using it for the next few years until our kids are old enough to use the bunk bed safely. We paid $150 with free prime shipping and for that price we got a great deal in TWO beds. The beds are sturdy, safe, and cute. The are no sharp anything and they are low enough that my 1.5 year old can get on and off the bed by himself without any problems. Note: we do have railings on the exposed side of the beds since both of my kids tend to roll in their sleep. We have the extra large railings that only leaves a small opening for them to climb to sleep! You seriously cannot tell the two beds are part of a bunk bed.
Before putting the beds together, we printed the directions previous reviewers posted and with that and the original instruction the beds were ready in about 20 minutes. Time mostly spent on unwrapping parts: It was pack very carefully.
Finally, It is great to know that in the future we can have a bunk bed to save space or to add fun to the kids room. For now, we simply love this two beds!
Assembly took about 12 hours including 2 trips to home depot after I lost a screw and then some washers. They really cant give you *any* extra washers??! Is it too costly for them?
And, as another reviewer stated, snapping these little plastic tabs into I think 20 slots is hugely difficult. Many of the plastic pieces simply do not fit and we had to leave them out and the bed slats loose.
Great looking bed once it is assembled but plan on a day of work to set it up! The assembly directions are less than explicit and you may need a hammer and/or a vise grip to put the small plastic plugs in over the metals slats forming the bottom of the beds at top and bottom...there are 44 total slats, so this is quite a task. There appears to be some variation in the way the slats and holes are cut which makes it a challenge. But overall, it seems like a strong bed and nice looking product. One other thing...be sure you have enough head room so someone can actually use the ladder and climb over the rail on the top bunk.
I was ecstatic to receive the package earlier than expected.
It took my husband 90minutes to assemble it on its own with no sweat.
my big dresser fits perfectly underneath.
this bed is for my 5 year old and I was a little scared of him going up down the ladder. Well hes doing a great job.
I tried myself and were not as confident.
The ladder bars hurt the feet. thats why I only put 4 stars. But thats a sleek thin structure. And my son says it doesnt hurt his feet.
I love the fact the ladder is integrated to the structure without being angle since it does save some room.
All about fast shippintg, required assembly time and relatively good quality is true. I had one quality issue when a hole for a bolt was partially welded over but nothing that could not be fixed with the right tool.
Be aware that the original ladders are unusable. Your kid will not want to use them because the metal stick will hurt his/ her feet. It is also very difficult to get from the ladder on the bed and then to get down. I am in the process of adapting an aluminum industrial ladder for easier access.
I bought this for my 13 year old sons bedroom. The room is on the smallish side and we wanted to maximize space so that the could hang out with his friends to watch tv and play video games. This is PERFECT for that, the futon is great for adding additional sleeping space. It was relatively easy to assemble too. The only criticism I have is that it could be sturdier. It does shake a bit when my son climbs up to the loft bed. I think with some ingenuity and more building knowledge than I possess, it can be tightened up more.
In a nutshell it is the absolute perfect solution for a gaming/hanging out/sleeping over, man-cave for a 13 year old boy!
This isnt the best loft bed in the world, but it is a loft bed that provides more space and room for smaller bedrooms or rooms that need it. I would suggest getting some sort of padding to put on the ladder parts of the loft because those metal bars can sure hurt your feet when climbing in and out of bed. The nice part about this product is that it provides ALL the space underneath loft, instead of having a desk that can get in the way if you just want to store things or put some sort of furniture underneath. Overall this product is good, but not the best.
Very hard to put together. Pieces did not fit properly into place. Bed not sturdy at all. Company was nice though and let me return it after we had already put it together.

Nice design
Reasonably stable. The only complaint, the ladder rungs are hard on the feet, being so narrow. It would be nice to provide a matching set of pads.
Great Bed for Value

Two bed option is fantastic!

looks good once done but a nightmare to assemble

Expect a challenge
