1 bought this bed as a twin a few years ago for my daughter and was very happy with it- The Wood was solid and a light maple-color like you see in the photo. I bought it again last month and was very disappointed in the low quality and unattractive color, which was a darker, orange- honey stain. It looked awful with my floors. The wood was very light in weight so that it almost felt like balsa wood and seemed like it wood be easily dented, scratched,etc. 1 would have returned it but was having guests.
Assembly was fantastic, instructions incredibly clear and they even provided a cute little Alan head ratchet tool which was helpful. They definitely put thought into assembly and defined the process as much as possible. I took a star off because: one of the legs in the center support rail is longer than the other so the bedframe wobbles (and its not adjustable because it is metal, perhaps the drill holes were placed too low on that end); the wood slats while beautifully designed and already attached which was convenient, the boards with peg holes were attached upside down so they dont lock in (not structurally an issue but a nuisance); and Im pretty sure one of the two sets of slats was a board short. All things considered it looks fantastic but there is some small work that needs to be done on my part after the fact so -1 star.
So for starters... this is not box spring friendly! We have a Queen sized memory foam mattress and the pic attached is what it looked like on the bed frame with the box springs. Comically tall! Without the box springs the bed feels comfortable and sturdy. Ill update my review after a few months of wear and tear.
To build: the instructions are a little vague but i was able to get this done alone in about an hour-hour and a half. The box is heavy so you will need an extra set of hands to bring it in but other then that its a pretty simple solo project. Comes with all the tools you need, a handy little socket wrench and extra pieces.
Overall: the frame looks nice and does not feel cheap. The headboard is on the smaller size in my opinion but its very nice looking. Definitely get that simple, modern feel with it. Time will tell if the wood cracks or bends over time.
Package was delivered late. Finally received bed frame package, first bad sign I started to assemble bedframe the holes and screws didnt line with bedframe, screws were too short. Whomever drilled the holes for bedframe construction did a poor job, this was a waste of time and money. Also an inconvience to return but I may have to...Not recommended for purchase
Wife and I are weighted around 170pound. It has been very sturdy for us for ALL purpose. Elegant and simple looking. For the price, it cant be beat. Highly recommend for petit to medium size folks.
Usually I only bother to write a Bad Review; however I wanted to take a moment to say I was very happy with the product. The outer shipping package got banged up; however, there was an inner package containing the bed components and it was pristine. Assembly took a few minutes. But I was impressed with the labeling of the pieces and the assembly documentation. Definitely much nicer done than any product, no dowels! And best of all, the bed goes together in a way such that disassembly for moving would be no biggie. Looks nice, and nicely made.
This bead was easy for me to put together. The slats that hold the mattress dont feel real sturdy but my 17 year old has been sleeping on it with no problems.

Falls apart as you sleep
After two months my bed started to wobble, and I noticed every screw is coming loose. I dont feel safe sleeping.
