A little more narrow than I thought. Quality isnt great, as I had on of the pre-drilled holes not line up with the piece it was screwing into so the screw came out of the side of one of the factory finished boards. Luckily it was on the back interior of one of the show cubbies so you cant see it. Also one of the plastic legs wasnt going on right so the bolt came out of the plastic so now the piece just sits on that leg instead of it being secured to the piece.
This was the only bench with storage that met our width restriction, so its working out okay, and since I dont move it around any, the loose leg is not a problem.
3 stars cause the padded seat is nice, the assembly was easy (even though that one screw came out the side and a leg broke during assembly), and it has the adjustable shelving which is nice so we have two large cubbies for storing boots.
Now if only I could get my guests to take off their shoes....
I love it! it looks just as advertised. It was kind of easy to assemble and the slot fits most shoe as sneakers. When I read the reviews they complained so much about the cushion was terrible. Its really not! its a decent cushion to sit on and remove your foot wear. Also, I added a piece of Velcro on each side to keep it from slipping off which it will do from time to time. This bench is very sturdy and I highly recommend this. I purchased this so guest can take off their shoe before walking thru my house. I went to the store and bought nice colorful slipper comfy slide on rubber sandals for the guys in all in different sizes. I place them in the slots so when guest come they take a pair of slipper and slide their shoes in the same slot. I did for Easter and it was a big hit.
