Just showed up on the porch damaged with the words Heavy AF in bold marker on the side of the box. Real professional. Not sending back because its not worth the headache and runaround Ill probably be confronted with.
Seems relatively study. Instructions are decent, but it is relatively time consuming. The second bed is easier after you sort through the correct numbered pieces and get a sense of how things things get put together.
My biggest complaint is the quality control and/or packing of the wood. Ive attached pictures of dented wood pieces as they came out of the box. A few will be unseen based on orientation of the bed, but this seems like terrible QC. The bunks replaced combo crib/toddler bed from IKEA. These were cheaper with presumably cheaper wood and I didnt have any problem with them over 4/5 years.
Probably the most concerning one is the ladder (last pic) since presumably it is load bearing. The wood and veneer cracked when I attached the bracket. Either they need a better pilot hole for the screw or need to reinforce the wood. Ive only had these for a few daysand not yet made them bunksbut I will contact manufacture if the ladder seems the least bit unstable.
My husband put these together so I cannot comment on the ease of assembly, but he didnt complain. I was skeptical about purchasing bunk beds online, but Im glad we did. We purchased bunk beds at a furniture store over 5 years ago for 1500 and these bunk beds feel sturdier than those. I couldnt believe it. I almost purchased bunkie boards to use on these beds but I decided to wait. Im glad I didnt buy the bunkie board because the slats that come with these beds were very sturdy as well. They are better than our furniture store bunk beds. Im happy with the quality of these beds and you cant beat the price.
High quality solid wood bed, with a gorgeous finish. Went together very quickly / except for the fact that 8 wooden dowel pegs DID NOT come with it, and they were needed to put the side rails on the top bunk. We were able to find a substitute at a nearby hardware store, but tack on 45 minutes for the shopping trip plus extra money for the parts. you can see why only 4 stars.
Plus, although the majority of the bed is extremely sturdy, fastened with bolts, etc., the side rails for the top bunk are only connected with wooden pegs, and the only thing holding the headboards/footboard together along the sides are 4 bolts (one on each side, 2 top, 2 bottom). Not sure how solid the construction would be if you had these each as standalone beds (which it is advertised you can do), as I would think with constant getting in/out of bed there would be some rocking that would shift the head/footboard.
All/in/all a fine purchase for our needs, especially placed in the corner of the room, and where others bunks we have purchased (2) are definitely sturdier/have more bolts for strength, this one has way better wood/finish. Also thoughtful that they provide wood veneer stickers to cover all bolt holes, if the look of the open holes/hardware bothers you (were trying them out for now).
If I could give these beds 10 stars, I would. They were so easy to out together that my teenagers did it! Sturdy, extremely well/made, nice to look at. They are so well priced that I almost feel guilty considering what I paid. Excellent investment.

For the price point, the beds were much, much more than I expected.
