This is a good storage bed. It took me approximately 3 hours to assemble it, and I used a power drill with adjustable torque to torque in all of the screws the same without overtightening them. If youre going to use a hand screwdriver, I would expect you will take at least another hour because there are a lot of screws involved in assembling the bed. I worked alone / there are a few tricky spots where having a second person help hold things would definitely make assembly easier, but most of the assembly work doesnt require two people. If you have two people, the second person can assemble when not needed to help hold things.
I did notice that the plywood slats which create the platform for the mattress do slide around a little and didnt feel the most secure, so I followed the advice of other reviewers and added some finishing nails to attach the slats to the two supports which they rest on. With the additional nails, the platform feels much more secure.
During assembly, I broke 2 drawer cams and 2 of the large cams which hold the main frame together. s online form was easy to use, and they shipped out the new hardware to me the day after I submitted the request for replacement hardware online.
I didnt have any trouble with the drawer alignment. All of my went in, slide smoothly, and close completely. Maybe I got lucky, since there have been a few complaints on previous reviews about this.
So far, no complaints about the bed. Its solid, assembly was straightforward, and s customer service to replace hardware was very good.
Great bed for the price. The instructions were very good. Did some of the additions as mentioned in another post with felt tape and screwing in the slats. It was a little difficult squaring the thing to get all the to slide in flush but the bed is very solid. Other posts made me nervous about the quality but Im quite satisfied.
Assembly takes a little while, but you cant beat the price. We wanted a platform bed that our dogs couldnt get under and tear things up and couldnt find anything we liked at local stores so we gave this a shot. We bought the bookshelf headboard and night stands as well. We couldnt be happier. It doesnt have the high quality finish and feel of more expensive sets, but it has held up and looks great for the price. The in the bottom are a great added bonus.
My wife needed more space in my bedroom but I cant make the room bigger so 30 years with her Wife and Best Friend this is what keep you going Trust.I went to to see what they can help me with maybe they have a bed with a lot of I started loo and I found my wife dream the extra space she needed a big bed with 12 big . OK delivery was dela
Over all a nice unit with only a few problems, shipping was quick and easy (considering it was a bed) and assembly took me about 45 minutes alone. The 6 draws under the bed provide plenty of storage for cloths, sheets, towels, or anything else not to heavy.
Now for the few problems I have with the bed. First the material that makes up the bottom of the draws in relatively thin and bends easy. This would not be a problem except they way the bottom is held in if it bends to much it pop out. So the draws on the bottom can only be used for lightish things.
The second problem is with the end boards and the slats that the mattress sits on. The end boards are only held on by the side boards on each side this means they have a tendency to bow out if there is a lot of movement on the bed. When the end boards bow out the slats that hold the mattress up tend to fall out of there channel and move around which make the end/corners of the mattress fall down. This is especially bad if you have a mattress that is very flexible like a memory foam mattress.
I made the draws a little stronger by adding some thin cross members under the bottoms. By replacing the slats with a single peace of plywood the same thickness I was able to fix the bowing and falling threw problems.
Overall a good bed for the money and with a few very cheap and easy changes the short comings can be fixed.
Terrific bargain bed, especially when following the carpentry upgrades published in the ratings section. Great for an apartment! Minus the old box spring, our old mattress feels better!
I almost didnt buy this after reading the negative reviews, but I read through quite a bit of them, and after hearing the tips about how others have reinforced it, I headed to Home Depot, picked up some supplies, and went ahead and ordered. As is, no, this bed wont hold up. What I did, though, was pick up some Titebond III, a whole bunch of L brackets, some felt, and reinforced the living daylights out of it. I put the wood glue in EVERY hole during assembly, as well as painted it onto each screw. Once it was all put together, I added 16 L brackets to the frame; 2 at the top and bottom of each corner, and one on each side of the two middle supports, where the go. I just held them in place, marked the holes, and pre/drilled pilot holes.
People were also complaining about the slats not staying in place, and being too noisy, so I bought an entire bolt of thicker felt and glued it to the inside of the brackets where the slats sit, and also cut a large piece to cover the slats with (to quiet them, and also to keep the loose splinters from tearing up the underside of my mattress), and I tacked those down with flat head thumb tacks.
Our bed frame is sturdy, were able to reposition the bed without the falling out or the bed frame becoming unsquared, and the only noise the bed makes is during, uhhhh bedtime fun, if the frame knocks against the matching headboard. The only complaint people had that Ive not yet been able to solve is the gap between the frame and the matching headboard, although Im thin of adding a sort of mesh hammock because a.) you wont be able to see it with the pillows on the bed, and b.) if you drop anything down there, its a NIGHTMARE to get it back.
With all that said, this is not a bed frame for people who plan on moving a lot (the reinforcements kinda negate disassembly), people who rearrange their room often, or for people who dont want to take the extra steps/spend the extra money to make it work.
All the pieces arrived in perfect condition, and with all the necessary hardware. Im a 5 5, 115 pound female, so I had to open the boxes outside and carry the pieces in, but I assembled this entire frame, the matching headboard, and 2 matching end tables completely by myself over the span of 3 days. The directions werent too bad to work with, youll just need to GO SLOW, READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY, and sort/label all the parts and hardware before you get started.
It looks great, and its the EXACT bed frame/headboard I wanted, so the extra work/cost was worth it to me.

Sturdy and Easy to set up
My wife and I had a great time putting it up together. It was relatively easy and all we used was a screw driver and a hammer lol
Good bed, better with a few changes.

Cheaply made. Not worth the money. It wont last.
Cheap! Made of partcle board. Cracked and broken where its screwed together with no activity other than sleeping. The then would not line up or close.
With a few extra additions, this frame is GREAT!!!
