This is a great solid bed for a toddler. It was torture to put together. Some of the parts were very difficult to put together. It was very well organized with everything labeled and the metal was in excellent condition with no scrapes, scratches or dents. The directions were slightly difficult only because even though it had drawn pictures for all the parts, it didnt show them in relation to size for each picture. Luckily, since everything was labeled it helped. I knocked off a star because the screws in the top wood drawer stripped right away. I think it would hold up better for kids if they were plastic.
PROS: This bed is super sturdy, and my 5yo son loves it. We love the steps because it seems safer than a ladder at this age, and he loves that he can store toys and things in it. I love that (even though the loft is pretty low) we can store bins of toys under it and he can play underneath it. Once everything is tightened up, the construction feels really secure. The pieces were very well labeled and the asembly instructions were clear. However, be warned
CONS: I joked to a friend that the only thing Ive ever bought that came in more pieces was a bag of granulated sugar. Its a good thing the pieces are labeled so meticulously and the instructions are simple and clear—all 41 pages of them—because man oh man, it is a LOT of steps and pieces. My husband and I thought wed put it together on a Friday when we were both home and our son was at school, to surprise him, but two days later we were still only on step 20 out of 41. Its ridiculous, because this thing COULD easily come partially assembled, so that youd just have to attach the major pieces to each other (support slats to rails and headboard and so on)—but nope, EVERY SINGLE TINY PIECE is separate: every slat, every bar, every screw and washer, probably a couple hundred pieces. Id estimate we spent a total of 12/15 hours on it. I think this would be super overwhelming if I were a single parent or hadnt had basically a whole weekend to devote to it. (As it was, my husband took the morning off work on Monday just to finish the @* thing.)
As per the many reciews, this bed took over 3 hours to put together. I only gave 3 stars because i was disappointed in construction of the product. Several main pieces were dentes, making it a bi*ch to interconnect, along with several drill holes completely out of alignment. This is why is took over 3.5 hours, pure muscle and hammer power were needed to link certain parts. So frustratingHowever, once finished it looks nice, seems structurally sound and safe.
Just be warned, it will take many hours and pain to put this together.
I got this frame for my 4 year old grandson. He loves it Loves to climb up high in his big boy bed. Loves have special space under for his toys and book. We did get a lamp that wraps around the bars. And it is sturdy I would recommend this to anyone, in fact I have!
We got this when we were preparing for our first foster child a few months ago.it did not disappoint. This bed just makes his room 10x more funHe loves itKeep in mind that you cant sit on the bed for a bedtime story, but standing wont hurtWe also have bar stools so we can sit high enough to read with him. Make sure you measure, as the stairs make the bed a heck of a lot wider than a normal twin. Love it, tho!
Great for bed time stories in the under side. She loves it so much. It is the envy of all the other parents / for whatever thats worth. We like building things. But / no joke / two of us were at it for nearly 6 hours. So brace yourself.
The girls love their beds, but as far as putting it together goes the instructions are very detailed which is nice but after the first bed I figured out you dont have to follow the order completely. It can be a bit of a pain

Great finished product, not fun assembly

Sturdy, fun, but buyer beware: comes in a MILLION PIECES and takes forever to assemble
