First off let me just say this thing was a nightmare to put together. It took me like half the freaking day because I kept getting so frustrated I had to walk away for a few minutes. And I have put together tons of items like this being a single mom so it wasnt just me. The directions were hard to understand and multiple times I put pieces together and got a few steps ahead only to realize I used the wrong screws or something because the directions are so vague.
But after the nightmare of assembly I will say that Im quite happy with this bed. It could definitely be better but for the price I think its more than worth it. Since its the same on both ends by the head and feet it doesnt matter which way you need the drawers to be facing so thats a plus. I think it looks very sleek and nice also in my sons room. While I wish I could have gotten a different color other than white it was the only color that matched the rest of his room.
I will say that the feature I was most excited about was the 2 drawers since he needed more storage space but unfortunately they were sort of a let down. They are not very deep at all. Maybe a little over a foot and thats it. So I wont be fitting as much as I thought I would in there. But they are still nice to have.
Also be aware that this thing it very heavy and awkward to move since its really long so make sure you have help to get it where you want it both before and after its put together. Also just a quite FYI the weight limit isnt very high on this being 300pounds. My son weighs 90 and I weigh 200 so I would be nervous to sit on this with him on it also.
Overall Im happy with this especially at this price point. Though it was probably the worst thing I have ever assembled in my life it does look really good!
This base was very heavy in a box, to move it you would need 2 people.
It is easy to assemble because the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Once assembled the bed looks very nice, it has a simple design in a dark brown color.
The MDF material is of good quality, does not crumble so easily and has a good finish.
The 2-side drawer that are on the base are of good size store things and they feel really smooth when you open them.
I liked this bed base very much.
Our oldest son is 8 and recently decided that his race car bed was too babyish. So he wanted a regular bed. We needed a white platform bed so it would match his other furniture and so we wouldnt have to buy a box spring. This bed meets all our needs.
The box was MASSIVE. Its basically impossible to move it very far by yourself. We left it in the garage until we were ready to put it together, then carried the pieces upstairs bit by bit. None of our pieces arrived damaged.
The color is billed as ivory white, but it looks more like a light-wash white. Like, just a single layer of lightly brushed on white paint. For our purposes, especially since our sons room doesnt have the best lighting, this was fine. But if we were planning to put it in a brightly lit room with other bright white furniture, it would need another coat of paint. Im relieved we didnt need to do this because it would have been a huge pain. But its worth keeping in mind that the actual color is sort of ambiguous and washed out. If youve got a beachy themed space, its probably perfect.
The bed took my husband an hour and a half to put together. When I asked him how difficult it was to build, he just shrugged and said, Ive got plenty of practice with cam-lock, -like furniture. It was fine.
For an 8-year-old, this bed is perfect. He doesnt need anything fancy. He likes that there are drawers underneath to put all his stuff in. The drawers pull out and close just fine.
At this price point, I think this is a good buy. Its not heirloom quality or anything, but it is simple and functional.
This bed is so heavy and difficult to assemble that I am not sure if it is worth the trouble. My bedroom is small so I had to spread all the pieces out in another room and bring them in bit by bit. And you need two people to carry the package and to assemble it. The finished product is okay,. I like the look of it, but what a hassle!
I put this together on my own, with occasional help from my excited 10 year old that was getting the new bed. One person could put this together, and with a power drill it took just under 2 hours to put together on my own. The box is extremely heavy, so be prepared to manage delivery day for that! The bed is secure, cozy and overall exceeding my expectations.
This was not an easy task. The directions were not clear at all. It took a lot longer than I expected and I had assistance. Drawers did not slide on easy. It looks good after all the troubles.
This bed is what we used to call a Captains bed. It took me about an hour and a half to assemble with a screwdriver and hammer. The directions were easy to follow and there are not a lot of pieces, which makes it easy. If you use a power-driven screwdriver or drill, you will probably cut the assembly time to an hour. This is really a very simple and straightforward assembly.
The bed held a 200-pound man just fine, we did put a very comfortable mattress on top. The bed did not shift or give any indication that the weight was a problem. It looks great in our back bedroom.
We just finished assembling this bed and for the most part found it very easy to assembly. The instructions were very clear and it only took about 30 minutes. The box might be heavy and some shipping damage to the box but the contents were well protected.
The materials are good and solid. Although, particleboard it is dense and appears sturdy. When assembly it is super nice and looks fantastic.
I highly recommend it.
