Almost all real wood, easy to assemble, good value

I was pleasantly surprised with this bed. Instructions were clear and well thought-out with little room for error. They provided some extra hardware which was nice as well. Everything except the footboard insert is real wood, and even that insert is still pretty high quality and durable feeling MDF. We went with the white finish which was smooth and consistent with no areas really missing paint. Assembly took about 45 mins even with my daughter excitedly helping me put it together. My only gripe about the bed and the only reason I'm deducting a star is that the slats are too few. The space between them seems considerably larger than expected and you can sort of feel it even with a quality mattress on top of it. I may add more slats later myself. I like how they have all the slats connected together with a stapled canvas so that you don't have to space them yourself, just put both ends tucked into each corner and everything else is spaced accordingly. Only problem there is the wood is so soft that a lot of the pocket screws don't grab and I had to forego the pocket holes all together and just screw straight down into the wood and into the frame vertically instead of at a 45 degree angle. Overall great value for the money though and would not hesitate to recommend. You could certainly do a lot worse for the price.

    Sturdy, affordable, and good looking

That headline sounds like an online dating profile. Anyway, this bed is great. I purchased it for my four year old son since he's outgrown his toddler bed. I was looking at a lot of other options online and I liked how sturdy this one looked. The center bar really helps the wooden slats from sagging in the middle. The wood frame is lightweight, but very rigid and seems solid once assembled. I was worried about some of the other models being torn up too quickly. Although I don't want my son jumping on the bed, it's going to happen. This bed was about $25 more than other options we were looking at and I think the money is well worth it. The assembly was a breeze. If you've assembled other kids furniture, you know how frustrating it can be. I had this completed in a little less than an hour. You can use the allen wrenches that come with it, but these assemblies are always faster and easier with some power tools. If you have a comfort level with some basic assemblies, this bed should be no problem at all for you. Overall, it seems like a nice sturdy bed that should last quite a long time. I'm happy with the purchase.

    Great, sturdy bed frame

Such a lovely sturdy bed when finally assembled. It probably didnt help that my assistant is 3, but we did finally get the bed frame put together. It is very well made, heavy wood. The hardware is color matched so it does not stick out of the finish color. I am very happy with this selection!

    Definitely worth every penny!

Some of the assembly needed 2 of us for stabilization (maybe that was just us) but overall it was easy to assemble. Love the non-toxicity of this piece of furniture!

    Solid wood trundle

Easy to assemble it took about an hour with simple instructions. Came well packaged and arrived a week after ordered. The grey color matched my daughters bed. Seems solid and rolls easily on wood floor.

Good enough for a few years

I did some substantial research looking for a bunkbed for my 5 and 7 year old girls. Reasons I purchased this one was the ability to put a regular sized mattress on the top bunk - many bunks suggest using a thinner than average mattress and we had recently purchased some nice, regular sized mattresses and did not want to add two more to this purchase. That said, we have a standard 8ish inch mattress on the top bunk and it is pretty high (i.e. close to the safety rail). My 7 year old is o.k with this, but for a younger child, I would actually say you should get the slimmer mattress for peace of mind. Building the bed was just o.k. - the instructions are not that clear and you def need two people. The 'frame' for the mattress which is ropes and wood does not fit the full length of the bed like the pictures show in the instructions. I'm not sure what that is all about, but we didn't feel this would compromise the safety or comfort of the bed (but I think poor directions or a faulty product is at play). Once constructed, the bed is not the most sturdy (wobbles when someone uses the ladder), but that's why this is a good bed for now, not forever. I like knowing that once my girls decide they want their own space, we can separate the beds and not have to go buy new twin frames...a big selling point for me. All in all, a nice looking, average quality bunk that will serve it's purpose for a few years and made two little girls very happy.
