BIG chair but does the job

This recliner was as described / one review mentioned how firm it was, which was spot on: it is much firmer than I am used to. However, appears well constructed (weight/wise, its a monster, 180, due to its steel/based construction), and with use should soften up a bit. It is higher (maybe 3/4) than I am used to, which is a plus. I had trouble standing up from my old recliner even using my hands on the arms as support. In this recliner, I can simply stand up! One thing I cannot emphasize enough: an extension to the arm controlling the foot rest was a recommended add/on, and I got it. Thank goodness! Im a bit on the short and not/muscular side, and I dont think I could manage the arm without the extension. As it is, I can manage it with a bit of effort, which I dont mind because the sturdiness of the recliner is well worth the extra effort. Overall, a wise buying decision. Only bad thing was the delivery: I chose Room of Choice for the extra fee. On the day of delivery, I was waiting with my front door open and heard the forklift (?) coming, so I headed for the door. By the time I got across my living room and to the door, the delivery person had dropped off the carton outside in the rain and was gone. I had to ask 2 neighbors to bring in this monster (see above) and set it up. Thank goodness for good neighbors! promptly took care of crediting back the extra fee for the delivery option, so its all on the delivery service.

    Real deal for tall people

68 year old working man. 63 35 inseam 190 This is a recliner/chair that fits me, and actually may be a bit big for me. When I sit in it, which I usually do, it supports my body, and when I do recline in it I fit on it. Padding is firm, which I like, as it keeps my back and thighs head straight. Better late in life than never to have a chair that fits me.

    Big, comfortable chair.

Im 61 and my feet dangle 2 or 3 inches off the floor, when I sit in it. The depth of the seat is at least 2 more inches than the distance from my back to the back of my knees. So, if I have my back against the backrest, my calves are forced into an angle that forces my heels to be a couple inches away from the chair. In other words, I feel strangely small in the chair. The height of the backrest is perfect. It would likely support the head of someone up to about 65. I ordered it to sit in while trying to recover from surgery, as a result it may have seemed more cumbersome to put together than it should have, but it wasnt easy. The delivery drivers tried to put it together, but could not. The cushions are very firm and the chair is sturdy. Nothing is loose or squeaks. I assume the cushion will relax over time. The only negatives Ive found are, first, there is not enough tension (or a way to adjust the tension) of the back rest. You can stop the chair at intermediately reclined positions if you are careful, but if you are not thinking about it, the backrest drops to full recline, as soon as you extend the footrest and lean back. The one thing that is starting to concern me is that the faux leather or walnut colored fabric that covers the chair seems as if it will wear out soon and certainly years before the rest of the chair. Ive had the chair less than 2 months and, already, the fabric has worn and rubbed to a solid light brown spot, 3 to 4 inches in diameter, where my head rests against the chair. The fabric seems noticeably thinner at that spot, as well.

    A really BIG chair

Im 6 2 280 pounds and this is a BIG chair. Very easy to get in and out of as it sits pretty high. As some have stated it is a stiff chair to sit in. Will see if it gets softer as its used more. A big draw back is that the back does not go back without the leg support extending. I just want to sit and lean back without putting my feet up but cant do that. It sits up straight like a high back chair. Can get uncomfortable after awhile. I managed to get it put together but took some trying. Easier if you have two people.

Great recliner made for larger person

Well made sturdy handsome. takes about 3 weeks for the cushion in the seat to become comfortable to set on. Best part is its easy to get up/out of.

    Good deal

I do enjoy my new recliner, not always easy to adjust the lever to recline/not sure if its because its new or because I dont have a lot of strength in my right hand/Still I would give 5 stars This was a good purchase!

Comfortable at after 3 months in hospital

My husband is tall in the saddle and most recliners headrests only come up to his shoulder blade area. This chair fits his body perfectly.
