This is the first chair that has made my husband happy. He likes the fact that he doesnt have to sit down into it. It sits up high which makes it easy to get in and out of. Its so comfortable that he falls asleep Everytime he sits in it. Seems well constructed from whole wood not particle board like the competition. Hopefully this one will last a lot longer than to the others which ere always falling apart. Mechanism is a little difficult to operate. Hopefully it will loosen up.
definitely for a larger person. Im 55 and my feet dont touch the floor. But this chair makes it easy to get up with my arthritic knees . Does recline all the way back. Bought it for my daughters and everyone loves the t!
So let me start off by saying this chair is SOLID. If you are worried about its construction and if it will hold up, dont. Im 65 and well, definitely not a skinny jeans kind of guy, and this chair will support me and someone sitting on my lap, while reclined, no problem. It does sound high off the floor, so its youre short, this may not be the chair youre looking for. But for us Big AND Tall guys, the size is perfect.
That being said, this chair is far under padded in critical spots. While the seat and back are well padded, the for rest is not. You can feel the wood boards on your legs when reclined. If I sit with my legs up for any length of time, my Achilles tendon starts hurting, and burns like heck when I stand up. Rounding the wooden corners and a little more cushion would solve this. Sadly, unless I decide to tear the chair apart, there is no fixing this problem. I just have to get used to adjusting extra seat cushions for as long as I have this chair.
The chair fabric is fine, but I dont will wear well. That doesnt matter much though, I keep it covered with a blanket.
Overall, I would not buy this chair again.
This chair is beautiful! It perfectly matches and aming high quality blue velvet covered sleigh bed I purchased from Wayfare. I am using this chair at a vanity table, and because of the shape of the back its slides nicely under the table when I am not using it. I noticed a review that said the wheels would not lock into the legs. This is not accurate. The wheels do lock into the supporting legs, but you have to turn and push them at the same time because there is a locking washer that connects the wheels to the legs of the chair. This is important because otherwise every time you moved the chair, you would be in danger of the wheels falling out and you tipping over. This appears to be a very well/made chair. The fabric is very soft to the touch and is a truly gorgeous velvet just like my bed. I am completely pleased with this product and highly recommend it!
Solid chair just has an extremely flimsy plastic handle that feels like its going to fall off. Also I havent had it very long and its very squeeky inside. Rather disappointed since it is supposed to be a rugged American made chair. Im 65 265 lbs. No where near the 500lb rating.
Replaced a 12 year old big man recliner with this new one. Old chair needs the seat springs replaced but is still useable. Ill probably get it repaired. New chair has very nice fabric on it. Chair is very comfortable. Highly recommend this recliner especially for us big people. High quality and very durable, not a throw away chair.
Newpurchased a second big man chair for our cabin. Replaced a poor quality ly boy rocker recliner that fell apart. makes the best recliners. High quality that lasts.
Recliner was as advertised. It is for big and tall men. Im 5/11 and it is about 1 too high when sitting. My feet dont set flat of the floor. It is perfect when reclining since my feet do not hang off the end. This was most important to me. The screws for assembly were not included but 1/4 bolts and washers worked just fine. I contacted the seller and replacement bolts were send within three days with no hassle.
