Before purchasing this bed frame I researched frames high and low for what would work for me and my partner. Before buying this we had a metal flimsy frame that did not stand the test of time and we were worried about getting another frame that would scratch up our genuine wood floors. Having a toddler who often crawls into bed with us, we didnt want a frame that stood too high up and would pose a risk to her. What we got is a heavy duty, easy to put together, sturdy, low profile platform bed that is stunning to look at and gives us peace of mind in knowing that we made the right decision. Bed frames are not cheap but this one is DEFINITELY worth it especially if you are afraid of weight being an issue for the frame. Me and my partner are a combined of 450 lbs and this frame is top notch!
Let me start off with the good
The product is nice when assembled. It looks at good as promised. Just know that if you use a 12 mattress, you will only have about 8 of exposed headboard. I did and it still looks nice.
My GRIPE, Ive provided the pictures for your review. I had waited almost two weeks to receive this really was looking forward to putting it together. The box is big and weighs at least 120 lbs. I am a pretty big guy, so I was able to get it to the master bedroom, but this is probably a two/person job. I opened the box and removed all the pieces. One of the pieces was completely torn apart and almost look like it had been shipped like that purposely. There are over 30 pieces of wood and these two pieces that were supposed to be nailed and glued together from manufacturer, were completely not. In fact, it was torn off (review photos). Because I know my way around power tools, I was able to remove screws and fix the issue. Albeit it still a bit noticeable.
Could I have shipped everything back? Sure. but I wasnt about to put everything together in a 100+ box then figure out shipping to wait to get another unit. Would be nice if they gave me a discount for the defective product, they shipped me
I really like the design and the color, we ordered and when it arrived, there were missing screws. Needed to to Home Depot and got some w extras, it was successful but took more time and effort, obv driving and coming back in the mid of assemble wasnt fun, but result was amazing!
It was time to replace our behemoth 2001-era wooden bed frame, so I chose this queen-sized frame in black because I loved the vintage style. The bed was in wonderful condition, despite the box being beaten all to bits. The UPS driver literally brought the package in and said she wanted to write this one up because of the box damage, but the bed frame itself was just fine, so that one was on UPS. My husband and I had a blast listening to music and assembling this frame on Thanksgiving day. There was not even one screw missing, the instructions were decent and clear, and the bed is beautiful. Its super sturdy with not a single squeak or sound, unlike my behemoth wooden bed this one replaced. I was so nervous ordering an important piece of furniture online, but overall this was a great experience!
Im not good at assembling things, but I got this done in about an hour and a half without much cursing. When it was first assembled I thought it looked really low to the ground, but once I got the queen/sized mattress, the bed looked a lot more normal. I like the look too, its almost like a rustic log cabin rental vibe.
The only thing Id recommend is make sure you have a hand truck or dolly or something before delivery. I happened to have one randomly, and if I hadnt, this thing is HEAVY! It was delivered lying face/down on the floor, so I had to really lift with my legs and man.I gotta get in the gym.
But I managed to angle it onto a hand truck and get it in the elevator. If you live in a walk/up, definitely get a few friends to help out. Carrying this thing up multiple flights of stairs is a suicide mission if youre alone.
My brother and I put it together in about 25 minutes. But to be fair, weve done this before. Bed seems very sturdy. No squeaky sounds what so ever. I weigh 225 and this bed is solid. Everything fit together perfectly. Its a hundred dollar bed, so I dont understand the complaints. Looks more costly than it was. Perfect.
