I suspect its the lacquer/paint thats giving off a toxic plume of odors. If you have someone who is sensitive to paint fumes I suggest you avoid this piece. Everyone else should wipe down all surfaces, thats easy to do prior to assembly. Other than that issue, its a great little piece for the price.
I bought this sideboard for my dining room with hopes of using one of the cabinets to store my records and placing my record player on top. It works great for this and is a lovely addition to our home! When it arrived the package was heavier than I expected and I was pleased that the pieces seemed nice and sturdy. It was definitely an undertaking to put together just because there are so many parts but none of the assembly was particularly difficult, though Id say you definitely wouldnt be able to do it without a drill. The only issues I encountered were that one piece was mislabeled and the instructions asked me to use certain screws for the top piece that were far too big for the holes. The top piece is also secured with cam lock nuts and cam screws so I felt like it was okay without the extra screws anyway. Everything else fit together without any problem and Im very happy with the finished product.
I am very pleased with my buffet. It was easy to put together and I would purchase this again. The instructions were missing but I was able to contact the manufacture and they were emailed to me.

Ive read some of the other reviews. It does take a little while to assemble. My kit had all the parts. Looks fantastic. And you cant beat the price. My only comment is that is has a heavy paint/lacquer smell. So, I would recommend airing it out for a while before moving it into the room where youll be using it.
Beautiful table, pretty easy to put together. Weve been assembly lots of furniture though so were getting used to the drill. We use it as a receiving table and didnt put in the wine rack. Wed rather there have been shelves in the side cabinets because theyre pretty large but if you have something big to put in there its perfect. Would make a great bar or actual buffet table.
Looks nice, seems solid, easy to assemble. Took off one star because hinges on doors arent great-- one of them popped apart 2nd day. Easy enough to replace so it wouldnt stop me from buying it.
I looked for weeks for something that would store our extra items in without seeing them! This was perfect! Great product although it took my husband and I 3 hours to put together.
