Although the box was not damaged, the back fiberboard panel was cracked and broken on one side. I put the bench together anyhow and the broken part is not really visible but I spent over $100 for a defective bench.otherwise the bench seems very sturdy and looks nice.
I agree with other reviewers-some wording with directions rather than pictures would be helpful to make sure you put it together in the order it should be. I got ahead of myself but it worked out okay. The tool included to tighten screws could have bit a bit bigger in size as my fingers/hands were hurting trying to tighten all the screws. Was packed well for shipping, arrived earlier than anticipated and is a beautiful piece once put together. Very classy and stylish for the price.
Just what we needed by the door for shoes and backpacks. We really dont use it as a bench much, probably because there is always so much stuff on it, but it is pretty sturdy. I would buy again!
We bought this for our porch so that our kids to the place to store their shoes. The center shelf also conveniently holds my son skateboard I agree with the other reviews in that the bench could use some additional bracing because it wiggles.
Look around at competitors prices. I looked hard and long. This is a steal. Also, the whole thing isnt wood, but the major parts where there is stress it is solid wood. Big name brands arent made as well.
