I specifically ordered this piece because I believed it was solid wood, as is stated on the manufacturers site. This is not wood. It is high quality MDF, but that is not what I intended to buy. To be fair, I only opened one of the two interior boxes, but from what I saw, the two horizontal shelf pieces and the sides are all MDF. That was enough for me to send it back. Sigh.

It shipped fast, arrived perfect, was easy to assemble -at least after years of training- and looks reasonably good. I was determined to find a cushion for the top and, since I cannot sew (like not even patch a hole in a sock), I decided to look online and I have found The Morgan Bench cushion by Plumstruck at Walmart online ($39.99). Although the size given by the vendor did not perfectly match the top of the bench, when the cushion arrived, it fit pretty well. Overall, I am very happy with this item.
Its a nice bench, not too difficult to put together, and good quality, but in its description it said it could fit three pairs of boots on the bottom which is why I bought this bench (being from Texas we have about 5 pairs of cowboy boots) and its not even close.
We received this boot bench yesterday after it having been backorders for a couple of weeks. As other reviewers have noted, the quality of construction is good, and the finishes on our bench were unmarred and consistent in color. The baskets which ship with this bench are the only downside to the overall review. They are cheaply made, and I expect them to last maybe a year at most. The weaving is already beginning to unravel in some places. I would think Cymax, the maker of the bench, would want to upgrade this problem with a heavier, and coated weaving. One final thing which was a small problem was that the back panel of the bench had a four inch by eight inch label with meaningless instructions on it pasted to one side. No matter which side of the panel one decides to have the label showing, it is unnecessary, and an eyesore. After applying Goop-Off for thirty minutes, then using a blunt end scraper, we finally removed the label. We also had to apply some walnut stain to cover the place where the adhesive of the label affected the appearance. Guys leave the stupid label off! Other than these issues, we still feel the bench is worth the price paid.
UPDATE: Cymax was most responsive to my issue over the decal and its effect on the appearance of the bench. They credited a large portion of the purchase price to my satisfaction. Marketplace and Cymax are tops.
Functional, sturdy, reasonably priced, decent quality, finish is good enough for the living room, easy to put together for someone who doesnt like to/isnt good at putting things together.
We are really enjoying this bench! Its sturdy and well-made, and it was easy to put together. The dark chocolate-brown looks really nice in our entry. We put the open space at the bottom instead--just makes more sense to put your shoes in closer to the floor. Highly recommend this one! (Glad I kept looking and didnt order the reddish-colored one like it)The baskets come in handy for holding reusable grocery and tote bags. Just grab them on your way out the door.

Solid built better than expected. Good height for kids and adults. Right in the middle to fit both. Fits our needs perfectly.

Perfect size
Absolutely love this bench! It fits perfect in my entryway and was very easy for me to assemble without the need of my husband.

Great for the price
Great looking bench! Not very hard to put together, took about 30 min. Baskets are a liitle cheap, but overall, nice bench and worth the price.
