This is a pretty great bed. The directions are overall pretty straightforward. The bed is stable, not really wobbly at all. Its a rather tall bunk bed, so placement is key if you have a ceiling fan. (Also, Im a 140 lb. college student who sleeps on the top bunk, although my roommates boyfriend said hed feel safe with both him and his brother on the top bunk, not like itd collapse at all Hope this helps!
I would have given this bunk bed 5 stars, but there was rust on one of the rails. It must have been exposed to moisture for a long time. I would recommend this bed though.
Two teenage boys put this together in their apartment. My son is 6 foot 5 and they have had no trouble with it so far since September. I found out they didnt bother to put the little plastic things in the holes for the slats. Im not very happy about that, but so far it has not affected the bed in any way. They also chose to take the ladder off as it hurt their feet and they didnt need it. So bottom line. Two college baseball player boys have not broken this yet. Great price.
Update: After six months we had to tear it down to move my son and it was still going strong. I will say that if you have to take it apart, although easy, there are a billion pieces :
Good deal for the price. The slats for the mattresses seem like theyll bend quickly. Ours are used by a 12 and 13 year old. Theres lots of exhausted (and at times, exasperated flopping down on the bed that happens and theyve held up so far. They have now started squeaking, after a few months of heavy use, but it isnt bad. The height is great. They like that when its separated into two regular beds they sit lower than a mattress/box spring set. Its just their size. We may buy another set just to use one for our preschooler because its low. It was easy for one person to assemble. The second bed went much faster than the first because I had gotten into a good rhythm with the clips. Follow other reviewers device to use something to push them in besides your fingers, makes it much easier. Serves its purpose well. Overall we are happy with our purchase.
Sturdy. Not that hard to put together. Read the instructions a head of time and take your time. The only issue I had was with the connecting U shaped pieces of metal for the futon sofa. Im not really sure what their purpose was and they bent on first use. My son complained about the steps hurting his feet the first time using it, but he hasnt said anything since.

Was pretty simple to put together
Was pretty simple to put together. Just make sure after a few days when you first assemble it to check the screws and tighten back up
I would recommend this bed
