I suppose this isnt the best bed, but it does what it needs to do. I think my 12 year old would rated it 5 stars. She loves it. The 2 of us put it together ourselves. I will say this- do not tighten the bolts all the way until all the pieces are on. I was disappointed because I scratched the pole a lot trying to get the last guardrail on. I had to loosen about 8 bolts in order to get that rail to fit. The latter is hard on the feet. She doesnt mind. It also wiggles a lot when getting on and off. She was nervous at first but got used to that quickly.
This is perfect for my living situation because I have so much stuff and am in a studio apartment. Putting it together was a bit challenging because I just sort of glanced through the instructions and went for it. It seems like my first attempt, I put everything together backwards, so I had to take it all apart and put it back together the right way. But the hardest part was standing up the two final halves of the frame and connecting it all together.
The total package really long and heavy so if you are ordering this before you move to a new place like I did, I would recommend opening the box and moving everything separately. Most of the pieces are grouped together in plastic.
The pieces are really loud if you drop them so be mindful if you got downstairs neighbors, and if you can find someone to help you, thats even better.
I heard some people say that this is really noisy frame, so I made sure to screw everything together slowly and carefully. For me this is no louder than any normal bed frame Ive previously owned. Its actually quieter than the bed frame that I just got rid of. I tightened the screws as tight as I felt I needed to, but not too tight because I might want to take this back apart and bring it with me next time I move. It only wobbles when Im climbing the ladder.
Im only 5ft-3 so I have a little more than half a foot head clearance when Im sitting at my desk under this frame. Under the loft bed I have a computer set up with dual screens, and also a ton of DJ equipment. So far I havent hit my head standing up. When Im watching movies, I often find myself grabbing the support beams and stretching my arms and back.
UPDATE: 9/28/2017 - Its been about 9 months and still A OK
Good sturdy metal bunk bed. Just what I expected after researching this and others, and reading reviews.
One issue I have though - the twin mattress fits perfectly; too perfectly. It is a struggle to put the sheets on the top bed because the there is zero room between the mattress sides and the metal frame. I ended up taking off the railing along the wall side of the upper bunk, so I could create a little space for the twin mattress.
The ladder is ok. Not a great design to get to upper bed. Definitely will put some pipe cushion on there to soften it.
Not very aesthetic, directions make for possibility of small but time consuming errors in assembly.
Sturdy, though, and came compactly packaged. Despite small hiccups, assembly was quick. Its exceptionally tall for generous space below.
The real treasure was the rep, Austin, who helped me out of a shipping delay pickle by assuring this bed would be delivered in a timely fashion, and canceling the other. For my inconvenience, he refunded the difference of the two.

easy enough for a mum to build alone and it ...
This exceeded my expectations... Makes the room look so much bigger, easy enough for a mum to build alone and it is so sturdy. Love it.
WE Loft Bed
Flat steps, so they do not hurt little feet like round. Beautiful color, exactly as shown. Ladder on each end makes it fit anywhere.

We got this for our 6 year old for his new room and he LOVES it. Seems nice and sturdy and holds his little memory foam mattress perfectly.
Keep bolts loose until all pieces are on.

Decent, sturdy loft bed - no complaints and sleeping like a baby on my futon mattress

Very Sturdy! Took longer than expected to build, but was labeled and instructions were easy to follow. Highly recommend for BIG kids!
